The Safe Haven
Sophia's eyes widened as she looked at the note. "What does this mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alexander's eyes locked onto hers, and he took a deep breath. "It means we're not safe yet," he said, his voice low and smooth. "It means we have to keep moving."
Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she looked around the office. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew that she had to trust Alexander.
"Who could have written this?" Sophia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alexander's eyes scanned the room, and he frowned. "I don't know," he said, his voice low and smooth. "But I think we should be careful."
Sophia nodded, her heart racing with excitement and fear. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew that she had to trust Alexander.
As they stood there, Sophia heard a noise coming from the back of the building. It sounded like footsteps, heavy and deliberate.
"What's that?" Sophia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alexander's eyes locked onto hers, and he took a deep breath. "I don't know," he said, his voice low and smooth. "But I think we're about to find out."
Suddenly, the door to the office burst open, and a figure stood in the doorway. Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she looked at the figure, her eyes wide with fear.
But as she looked closer, Sophia saw that it was a woman. She was tall and imposing, with a stern expression on her face.
"Who are you?" Sophia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The woman's eyes locked onto Sophia's, and she took a deep breath. "My name is Rachel," she said, her voice low and smooth. "And I'm here to help you."
Sophia's eyes widened as she looked at Rachel. She didn't know what to say, or what to do.
But as she looked at Alexander, Sophia saw a glimmer of recognition in his eyes. "Rachel," he said, his voice low and smooth. "What are you doing here?"
Rachel's eyes locked onto Alexander's, and she took a deep breath. "I'm here to help you," she said, her voice low and smooth. "I'm here to keep you safe."
Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she looked at Rachel. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew that she had to trust Alexander.
And as she looked at Rachel, Sophia saw something in her eyes. It was a look of determination, a look of protection.
"Okay," Sophia said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "We trust you."
Rachel's eyes locked onto Sophia's, and she nodded. "Good," she said, her voice low and smooth. "Because we're going to need each other's help to get through this."
