Chapter 2 - The S rank boss?

A group of five hunters pushed through the final corridor of the dungeon.

"Get that dragon, guys!" Sebastian shouted, leading the charge. "Sapphire, provide healing! Klaus, prep some instant-damage potions! Elijah, cast a protective shield on all of us! Sirius—tank the damage and protect us!"

"Aye, captain!" Sirius replied, planting his feet in front of the beast.

Sebastian activated his B-rank skill: Agility Multiplier and dashed toward the dragon's head, blades gleaming.

B-rank skill: Slash—activated.

With a precise swing, he sliced through the dragon's neck. The semi-boss fell with a thunderous crash.

Sebastian wiped the sweat off his eyebrows. "Nice job, everyone. Let's head to the boss room and finish this up once and for all!."

They walked down the stone corridor expecting the final chamber—but instead found only a wall.

"A wall? How's that possible?" Sebastian frowned. "There should be a boss room here."

"Let me check with detection magic," Elijah said, closing his eyes.

B-rank skill: Detection Magic—Activate.

"There is a boss room," Elijah confirmed, "but it's behind this wall."

Sebastian drew his daggers. "Time to bring it down then."

Before he could move, Sirius stepped forward. "I'm the tank. Let me do the honors."

Sirius slammed his shield into the wall. It crumbled apart—and what lay beyond left the entire party stunned.

The ceiling was broken, sunlight pouring into the chamber. A shallow pond shimmered in the light... and in it lay a man, unconscious, completely still.

"...What is this?" Sebastian whispered.

"I- i don't know ," Sapphire replied softly.

Sebastian stepped forward, trying to make sense of it. "How can a man be inside the boss room of an S-rank dungeon?"

"The boss should've killed him… Wait," Elijah muttered. "Where is the boss?"

Detection Magic—Activate.

"This is not possible...There's no boss."

"Impossible!" Sirius shouted. "Every dungeon has a boss it is powered by them!. Especially an S-rank one!"

Sapphire looked to the others. "What do we do? Do we take him with us?"

Sebastian nodded. "Let's vote."

"I say we take him,we can't just leave an innocent man here" Sapphire said.

"Same here,it would go against my principals to do so " Sebastian agreed.

"Don't be stupid. This isn't normal. I vote not to take him," Elijah protested.

"I'm with Elijah," Sirius added. "It's risky."

Klaus tapped his chin. "This is revolutionary. A man in an S-rank boss room? He might have answers... or something far greater. I vote to take him."

Sebastian exhaled. "That's three to two. We take him. It might be a bad idea, but we help the innocent, that's why we became hunters right?"

"Shouldn't we weaken him first?" Klaus asked.

"Yeah." Sebastian turned. "Elijah, create a barrier. Klaus, toss in some weakening potions. Sirius, bind him up with some enchanted chains. Sapphire, watch over him, let's be on the guard"

Barrier magic—Activate.

Weaken Potion—Deployed.

Enchanted chains—Locked.

"Good. Klaus, prep our vehicle. We're heading to the capital we have to inform the king about this"

The team exited the dungeon. Outside, Klaus's vehicle—a magic-powered flying cruiser—waited. A bizarre blend of engineering and enchantments, it was Klaus's personal invention and a great one at that.

Everyone boarded. Klaus took the wheel, soaring into the skies.

Sebastian leaned back, staring at the unconscious man. Did I make the right call?

Sapphire sat beside him. "Hey… you're thinking too much again." Sebastian looked at her — sapphire replied " remember when we first meet when you came to recruit me? And when I asked you what you wanted to do and you told me we help the innocent, no matter what, you acted like a brave hero" she laughed

Sebastian smiled. "Yea that was embarrassing, You're right. Thanks, Sapphire."

Elijah glanced back. "Still… this is weird. An S-rank dungeon without a boss? With a living human inside?"

"It is what it is," Sirius said. "We'll deal with it."

Suddenly, the man moved.

Sebastian instantly unsheathed his daggers. "He's waking up!"

The man's lips parted. He tried to speak—then collapsed again.

"Maybe we overdid it?" Klaus guessed. With a smile on his face

Sebastian confused . " Maybe a normal person won't withstand such magic,Let's remove the potions and the barrier. "

Minutes later, the stranger opened his eyes. Confused, he looked around.

"Good morning," Sapphire said gently. "How are you feeling?"

"...Who are you?"

"I'm a hunter," she said. "Do you know who you are?"

"...No. Who am I?"

Sebastian stepped forward. "That's a shame. Do you remember your name?"

"...Name?"

"Yeah. Everyone has one,a name is what makes you who you are."

"...I don't."

Sapphire smiled. "Well in that case how about we give you one?

The man stared at her not knowing what to say

Sebastian and sapphire looked at eachother

Sapphire replied " well in that case how about"..she thought for a while "sukiro? Do you like it?"

The man blinked. "...Yeah. I- i think so."

"Then from now on, your name is Sukiro!" she said cheerfully.

As the vehicle descended toward the capital

,a storm brewed quietly in the world of Yogurd.

The time to meet the king was here..
