Chapter 1 - 1

Have you ever played Minecraft?

If you haven't, you're really missing out. But let me explain it briefly for you—Minecraft is a game that falls into the sandbox and exploration categories. You can do tons of things in the game, but the main goal is to kill the Ender Dragon, which you can find in a special dimension called "The End."

After slaying the dragon, you can keep playing if you want—after all, there's still a massive world out there waiting to be explored. For example, building an enderman farm would be a good idea, since it can eliminate your need for ender pearls.

Like every hardcore player would, I decided to build an enderman farm. First, I made a one-block-wide straight bridge to get far away from the dragon's floating island. Once I finished building the farm, I intended to return to the real world by going through the portal on the dragon island—but then something unexpected happened.

One of the endermen from the island teleported right in front of me and took the dirt block beneath my feet. I managed to survive by using one of the ender pearls I had as I was falling into the void.

That enderman shouldn't have been angry at me since I didn't look into its eyes, but it suddenly teleported in front of me and hit me. The weird part was that the usual animation showing the enderman was aggroed didn't appear.

I drew my sword and tried to fight it, but every time I attacked, it would teleport behind me. When I tried to defend with a shield, it would still teleport behind and hit me. I lost more than half my health. Finally, I dropped the water I had in my inventory on the ground to keep it away from me—and then things got even weirder.

The enderman would teleport into the air, hit me, then teleport back to a safe spot before touching the water. That's when I realized something was seriously wrong.

I ran straight to the portal that would take me back to the real world. When I came out, I was in my bed—but I wasn't alone. The enderman was staring at me, holding a lava block.

I rushed to the exit door, only to find a creeper waiting for me. Behind me stood the enderman, holding a banned block that had been removed from the game, showing signs of intelligence. In front of me was a terrifying creature that could instantly kill me with my current health level. The creeper would explode in one second, killing us both.

In this horrifying situation, I did the first thing any sane video game player would do.

That ancient spell banned by the gods...

After closing the game at the speed of light, I took a deep breath and leaned back—only to hear a sound I definitely wasn't supposed to hear.

It was the teleportation sound of an enderman. Purple, flower-like teleportation particles that shouldn't exist in the real world brushed against my back.

As if that wasn't enough, I heard another sound.

"Hisssss."

It came from behind me. I had played enough Minecraft to know that sound belonged to a creeper. And I knew it was too late to run. I didn't even have time to swear.

Actually, that's a lie. I definitely had enough time to swear, and I used it well. But the curse I shouted was too harsh, so I won't be mentioning it here.

After hearing the explosion, I felt a brief moment of pain—but then it disappeared, and my eyes closed with an indescribable exhaustion.

---

When I regained consciousness, I found myself in a forest. I was lying on the ground like a corpse. The first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes was a game interface.

I had never seen this interface before, but it wasn't hard to understand—it was a mix of the games on my computer. I only had two games: Minecraft and Terraria. So naturally, the interface I saw was a combination of the two.

The features of both games were perfectly blended with reality. Terraria gave me the ability to sense the area around me—even if I couldn't see it directly. I also had an advanced 3D mini-map.

I was literally in the middle of the forest, and understanding my abilities might be essential for survival.

Adjusting turned out to be easier than I expected. The crafting mechanics had changed a bit. Terraria's mechanics were more dominant, and crafted items weren't indestructible. If I knew the structure of something, I could craft it using the required materials and tools nearby. For example, I made myself a wooden toy.

After confirming my abilities, I made a full wooden gear set—armor and tools.

"To be honest, I would've felt safer not wearing it at all."

After a while, the armor started to bother me, so I made it invisible. Since it still provided defense, it was fine. I looked around for a decent shelter, but I couldn't say I had a natural talent for surviving in the wild.

Anyway, I didn't feel alone—because I had two spawn eggs in my inventory.

One for an enderman, the other for a creeper.

"Just a heads-up, don't expect to respawn until I become absurdly strong! I still hold a grudge for what happened before I died!"

As I spoke, the spawn eggs remained still, which made me think they were unconscious.

"Anyway, let's keep searching. Worst case, I'll sleep on top of a tree tonight."

Honestly, I wasn't even sure if I was in my own world anymore. I hoped I wasn't in another world, or that there weren't any powerful monsters nearby.

After searching for a few hours, I gave up and decided to build a small treehouse between three relatively thick trees I had seen earlier.

After cutting down some trees, I managed to build a relatively decent treehouse after about half an hour of work. It wasn't anything fancy—just a one-room little place.

I gathered some stone and replaced my gear with stone versions. Night was falling, but I wasn't sure if sleeping was a good idea. What if something attacked me while I was asleep?

Apparently, it was going to be a sleepless night for me.
