"Are you sure she is okay? You didn't scare her to death?"
"She is fine. I didn't mean to scare her"
"Alright, what did you say you needed me for again?"
"Her bag. Post office. Burgundy."
The other man nodded in understanding, even though the man's words were mono sided and didn't have much context.
"I'll be right back"
The man just grunted in response as he stared at the young woman with the long platinum blonde hair as she laid on his bed unconscious. His hazel-gold eyes were cold and distant as they watched the way her chest rose and fell as she breathed. She had a nice chest and nice hips and...basically a nice body. His hands clenched and unclenched as he fought the desire to touch her hair which was like an etheral curtain on her face. With a growl, he raised his hand and fisted a lock of her hair in his hand. Gently took a deep shuddering breath as he basked in the sweet smell of her hair that was sure to be from her shampoo. Jasmine and vanilla, that's what she smelled like. Gently, he let go of the hair and traced her cheek with the ever lightest touch, he jerked his hands away when she mumbled and turned her head away from him, he frowned in annoyance, he wanted to see her face. Who would have thought he would meet a woman about to be robbed and molested by a bunch of no good riffraffs. If she hadn't been there, he would have relished eating their flesh and drinking their blood, he had no problem doing that in his beast form. And she turned out to be his mate, something he never thought about but strangely was filling him with something he couldn't describe, whether it was joy, alarm or mortification, he had no clue. But what had him singing his thanks to the moon goddess was that she had the mark, she was what he had been searching and praying for. She was his sigil bearer, his because she had the portrait of his alpha crest. He yearned to turn her over and look at it again, to trace it and confirm that it was what it was. But he was patient, he would wait for her to wake up, he was no longer in such a haste. He stood up and went to stand by his large window which had the view of the forest and all its green occupants. The house was a secret no one knew about, not even the humans who occasionally hiked here. He had built it in this location specially because no one ever had the guts to wander here due to its creepy and mysterious vibe. The air was still fogging over but the sun was beginning to rise slowly in its wake. His lips were a grim line as he watched the sun. It had been ten years, ten years of running, of grieving, of regret, and of planning his comeback for revenge. Now that he had found her, he was just getting started. A soft moan had him turning slightly to look at the young woman, she was stiring slowly, her tiny hands moving in motions as she was coming out of her faint. His mate. His beast was happy to see her, estatic even but him, he was confused. He didn't know if he was ready to have a mate yet.
"Hmm"
She was awake now, he took a deep breath as he walked towards her. Her eyes fluttered open and her emerald green eyes stared up at him framed by long lashes. His breath almost whooshed out of him as he stared into that emerald pool, she was beautiful and enchanting. Her eyes grew wide in alarm and she booted out of the bed in a rush, her hands crossed on her chest as if to protect herself. His heart fell a bit when he saw the scared look on her face, he raised his hands in a harmless pose.
"Its okay, I won't hurt you."
"Who...who are you.." she shook her head as he lips trembled, "...what are you? I...I saw you change. You were a wolf...then you became a man...who are you?" She almost yelled.
"I'm not going to hurt you. Just take a deep breath and calm down"
He watched her intently as she closed her eyes and took deep lungful of air which did a good job of calming her down.
"Okay, I'm calm. Now tell me...please. Who are you? Why am I here? And where am I? Also...what are you?"
"I'll tell you that in a while" he tried to sound comforting but his voice was too stiff from all the years of being emotionally dead, so he tried to lower his voice.
She nodded in understanding as she took in the room, it was fairly huge with a king sized bed, a door told her that it was the bathroom and the only other furnitures in the room was a black couch and a moderate sized desk with a chair to go with it. She decided to sit on the bed as she watched him warily, thank goodness he was wearing clothes, to her relief. She didn't know if she would calm down if she awoke to see a very naked though perfect body in front of her. He was dressed in a faded jean that hugged his strong thighs and butt, a black shirt that was tight on his chest and arms. She just noticed that he had tattoos on his arms, she could make out wolves and a full moon with some symbols which she didn't understand. She looked at the man, he was handsome, very handsome with long black hair reaching his shoulders, thick eyebrows, full lips and eyes that seemed like a mix of gold and light brown. If it wasn't the fact that she had seen the man change from a wolf, she might have been blushing in his presence.
"What are you?" She asked again.
"I'm a werewolf" he answered simply.
"What", her breath caught in her chest, he shot her a dark look.
"At least that's what you humans call us but we call ourselves shifters. I'm a wolf shifter."
She opened her mouth to speak when the door opened and a young man entered with a grin and her bag in his hands.
"Hey, I got the bag so what did I miss?"
