Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

SASHA'S POV.

We rode in Henry's car in silence as we made our way to school. I was wearing Henry's shirt, which he had given me, as the one I wanted to wear was already ruined. I played with the hem of his shirt while counting the minutes left until we reached school, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over me.

"Are you alright?" Henry asked, placing his hand on mine and briefly looking at me before shifting his focus to the road.

"Uhm. Yeah," I swallowed, and after a while, I whispered. "Thank you."

"For what?" he asked.

"For saving me from drowning," I said, nibbling on my lower lip.

"No need to thank me, I was just doing my duty. I would not want you dying after forcing you to come stay with us," he smiled.

"Oh," I mouthed, still playing with the hem of my shirt.

"Sooooo?"

"So what?" I asked furrowing my brows.

"I have been curious for a while about why you like those flowers so much?" Henry said.

"What flowers? What are you talking about?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

Henry looked at me for a split second before continuing. "I already told you I know about your visits to that place. So no need to lie. I have seen you on Mrs. Brown's property almost every night in her garden. But I am curious why?"

Oh! So that is what he meant by he knew about my secret. Wow, it's such a relief that it's about those flowers and not about the murder that I have committed."

"Why are you smiling? You know trespassing on people's property is a crime, right?" Henry said, looking at me.

"It's just that Mrs. Brown reminds me so much of my late mother. She loves taking care of those flowers like they are her babies, but ever since, her hands grew weak; she could no longer take care of them," I said.

"So you do it for her instead. Interesting," he said. "But why at that odd hour of the night?"

"She believes the flower blooming is the moon goddess's way of showing her that she still cares for her, and I would like to keep that faith alive for her," I said softly.

"You never really know someone until you talk to them," he said softly. "I never thought of you as this kind and innocent."

"I'm not innocent," I said with a straight face. "I have done things you would never imagine."

"Well, you are to me," he said and pulled up to the driveway. "Welcome back to school."

I alighted from the car and was about to hurriedly go to my class before more students could see me with Henry.

"Sasha," Henry called out, turning more heads in our direction.

He walked up to me and stopped in front of me, leaning in closer to my ears. "Here, you forgot your lip gloss," he said while sliding it into my pocket.

"What are you doing?" I whispered, irritated. "Everyone is looking at us; now they are going to think we are dating."

"I don't mind," he smirked.

"What happened to you not wanting to ruin your reputation by being with an omega?" I hissed, raising my eyebrows.

"Let me worry about my reputation, sweetheart," Henry said and kissed me on the cheek before walking away.

I guess I was not the only one surprised by this behaviour because as soon as I lifted my head up, I saw some people wearing surprised looks and covering their mouths, while others gave me dirty looks.

I hurriedly made it to my locker when Olivia came up to me. "Hey babe, how are you doing?" she asked in a singsong manner.

"I'm cool," I said, closing my locker.

"Is there something you are not telling me?" she asked, batting her lashes.

"There's nothing," I said, not wanting to entertain any conversation regarding the triplets.

"Sandra or Suzan, whatever your name is, I want to talk to you now," Freda interrupted, standing in front of me with her arms folded, stopping me in my tracks.

"You know my name, Freda," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Why were you trying to seduce my boyfriend?" Freda asked, sticking out her phone in my face, showing a picture of Henry and me in the parking lot.

Olivia gasped and placed her hand on her mouth. "So the rumours are true. You are dating Henry," she screeched.

"I'm not dating anyone, Olivia," I hissed.

"I don't know what you think you are, but nobody, absolutely nobody messes with what's mine," Freda said.

"I was not aware that Henry was owned by you," I said, irritated.

"Henry is my boyfriend and the one I'm going to marry," Freda declared.

"Did you guys not break up last year when we were still freshers?" I asked thoughtfully while placing my hands on my chin.

"We are back now, and I would not allow a filthy omega like yourself to take my place," she scolded. "If I see you near his radius or wearing his outfits again, I will make sure to make your life a living hell."

"I have got better things to worry about than whether you are going to be Henry's girlfriend or not," I hissed, pushing her out of the way.

I was walking away when I was forcefully yanked by my hair, pulling me to the ground. Freda pounced on me, throwing blows, but I soon gained the upper hand, giving her the beating of her life.

"Next. Time. Know. Who. You. Mess. With," I said, slapping her with each word.

A crowd gathered around us, and people started recording us.

"FREDA AND SASHA TO MY OFFICE NOW," a voice thundered.

"I did not do anything! His bitch tackled me to the ground all because I told her to join my project," Freda cried while cleaning her bleeding nose.

"You are such a terrible liar," I yelled.

The dean looked at us in anger. "Do not say another word. To my office," she warned.
