Chapter 1 - Level 0

The moment I stepped into my apartment, I noticed a strange button on the living room table. Before I could react, a voice echoed in my mind:

*"Press this button, and you'll receive $100 million. But you'll also be transported to Level 0 of the Backrooms. Survive and find your way back, and we'll reward you with another $900 million."*

I froze.

*"Backrooms? Those creepypasta maze levels?"*

As far as I knew, the Backrooms were just an urban legend. But the numbers flashing in my head—**$1 billion**—made my throat dry. I scrambled to pull out my phone, desperate to fact-check, but the voice interrupted:

**"Ten seconds to decide. Nine… Eight… Seven…"**

Sweat dripped down my neck. Screw it. I slammed my palm on the button.

*Ding.*

A notification lit up my phone: **$100,000,000.00 deposited.**

No time to celebrate. The voice hissed:

*"Transportation to Level 0 in three minutes."*

Panic surged. *What if I'm trapped there forever?* Frantically, I Googled "Backrooms Level 0":

*A labyrinth of 600 million square miles… endless yellow wallpaper… flickering lights… damp carpets soaked in unknown fluids…*

*Entities—unimaginable horrors. But Level 0? Supposedly 'safe.' Mostly empty. Mostly.*

With 30 seconds left, I grabbed the only weapon in reach—a kitchen knife—before the floor vanished beneath me.

***Thud.***

I landed in a room straight out of a nightmare. Peeling yellow walls. Humming fluorescent lights. The stench of mildew choked me. My knife gleamed in the sickly light as I crept forward.

Minutes blurred. Every corridor identical. Then—a crumpled note on the wall: a stick-figure shadow scribbled beside the word **"RUN."**

*"Level 0 has no entities,"* I reminded myself. *"No humans either. If you see something… it's* ***not*** *human."*

A *click-clack* echoed behind me.

I spun. A black, wire-thin silhouette lurched around the corner—limbs bending wrong. It waved.

*"Hey! Over here!"* it rasped in mangled English.

My blood turned to ice. *Entities don't speak.*

It charged.

I bolted, knife clutched white-knuckled. The thing's footsteps *squelched*, gaining speed. Walls blurred. My lungs burned. Just as my legs gave out—

A door.

I slammed through it, collapsing as the creature's claw scraped the closing gap.

Panting, I stared at the new scrawl above me:

**"DONT MOVE STAY STILL"**

But the real horror? The $100 million in my account… was now *worthless here.*

**Backrooms Intel Update: The Bacteria**

*Thin, ink-black entities resembling crude stick figures. Rarely spotted in Level 0. Approach = death.*
