Benjamin wanted an explanation, he wanted to apologize, he wanted to feel guilt.
But it all seemed pointless to him now.
The sedan's driver had been critically injured and only recently out of mortal danger did he regain consciousness; only for him to pull out his own oxygen tube while in the ICU.
"If we hadn't seen the surveillance ourselves, we would have thought someone came in intending to harm him. By the time we got there, he was already gone. His body was weak to begin with, so it couldn't withstand the ordeal."
Benjamin found it unbelievable. What sort of situation was this? Why did it seem like he was hearing the most absurd thing? How could someone narrowly escape death, only to give up the hope to live by their own hand? Why?
Could it be because he learned about the sacrifice of the police officers and felt a great deal of guilt? There was Benjamin, naively thinking, and he asked Doris, who was beside him.
