The two groups stared at each other. However, Erik noticed unease in the Leylarhads, as if they were expecting something to appear at any moment.
However, the Lomalins blamed the Leylarhads for Erik's attack, and the hostility between the two races increased as the seconds went on.
Erik looked around. He couldn't get out of the hiding spot, or both species of Thaids would attack him. He could escape the Lomalins, but not the wolves. So, he stayed there, hiding.
Their behavior was too weird.
Erik got his answer soon after. Behind the Leylarhads, a deep, guttural growl echoed through the forest, causing the trees to shake and loose dirt to scatter from the ground.
The Lomalins started getting restless and wriggling away; the Leylarhads fled. They both knew what the creature was, but not Erik.
