What is a hero? A device, a tool, an idol, a vessel that can faithfully absorb and respond to the masses' wishes, but never a flesh-and-blood average person.
The moment one becomes a hero, the "ordinary" get-out-of-jail-free card also disappears automatically, and it's no longer possible to claim "I'm just an ordinary member of society, with no need to take on responsibility, suffering, or harsh criticism." Bearing the irresponsible expectations and wishes of the people, every word and deed of the hero is magnified and scrutinised; the hero won't let the people down, and can't afford to let them down. If unable to meet expectations, the hero—or rather the former hero—becomes nothing more than a channel for venting hatred and a commodity for seeking benefits to the people.
