Amanda Jenkins was startled. "Why are you being so formal with me? The Griffin's Family has plenty of places to stay, why can't you just live here?"
Jesslyn Derei pursed her lips and said nothing.
In fact, she had known this would be Amanda's reaction as soon as she voiced her idea.
"Derei," Amanda said, furrowing her brow, "if you think living in the same building with us doesn't offer enough personal space, then I can arrange for you and Jessica to live in another building. We have so much space here; there's no need to move out! Besides, you're such a scaredy-cat, how can I be at ease with you and your daughter living outside?"
Amanda truly couldn't bear the thought and didn't have the heart to let the mother and daughter live by themselves.
Jesslyn Derei lifted the corners of her lips; for Jessica and Brother Ethan, she had long since become a brave person.
She smiled and said, "There's also Jack, with Jack around, we mother and daughter will be safe."
