"Let's...let's go again." I say to Iris, who hesitates. Probably due to my vigorous panting, or perhaps because she can sense the pain bellowing throughout my being.
But I have to keep at it.
"You should rest..." Iris says to me, but I shake my head and grip her hands.
"Again." I say, making sure my voice is as firm as can be.
She hesitates still, but gives in a second later.
As she pulls me onto my feet, I hold back my groan. And when I'm erect myself, I begin to take several steps forward.
I hadn't let up the whole day, I've been pushing and pushing. And by some miracle, I've been able to make great strides this one day than I ever had this entire week. I'm now capable of walking at least three steps on my own without my body wishing me instant death.
