IMOGEN'S POV
I walked into the shortlet apartment and dropped my handbag on the side table. No time to rest. I needed to get moving right away.
"Did you find out why Deborah is so hell-bent on making my son's school life miserable so soon?" I asked Talia, who was already settled at the small wooden desk by the window. "I expected it. But not this quick."
Talia looked up from her notebook. "From what I gathered, she wants to head the parent's PTA. Your presence is, in the words of many parents, 'scandalous.'"
I nodded slowly, a plan forming in my mind. "Maybe I should take it on myself. Just to get under her skin."
"You want to join the PTA?" Talia raised an eyebrow.
"Why not? It would drive her mad." I smiled at the thought. Everything seemed to be happening so quickly. They hadn't even started trying to burn me down yet, but Deborah was already on the attack. Was she really that insecure?
"Where's my son now?" I asked, glancing at my watch. It was getting late.
