After the Darkening, humanity, as one would expect, was soon embroiled in war: The First Myriad War. Many were enabled into the foolish endeavor by the new powers that had spawned in their bodies, and some by virtue of the fact that they ruled over those with these new powers.
The war didn't last very long, but it had been particularly fierce. Out of the nine continents of Epheria, three had fallen to the sea, broken and battered.
However, there was more to this bit of historical lore than met the eye, Ess knew.
In humanity's first war, three great homes were lost to the sea. They were corrupted with Fint and darkness, and all the natural organisms of this world's waters would not dare to make them their home, save for one.
Ess remembered when the Speaker had given him this clue days ago. It was apparently a hint that would lead him to the answer he needed – the place where he and the others needed to place the Nexus in order to not suffer the fury of the Unlimited Forecast.
