The more Xander listened to the tale of the family of four, the more he realized that this Egg Stealing stuff which he had initially thought to be a mere suspicion might even be bigger than he ever envisioned.
Something terrible was happening here in the Western Lands, and it had nothing to do with the Egg Stealing itself but with whatever purpose the stolen egg was serving.
If someone was trading Eggs, Xander would hate to imagine what purpose it was for.
According to Dawn, they had managed to find all but a total of twelve dragon eggs in the span of ten years since the village started the cursed business. Xander was quite surprised at the numbers.
Even though Dragon Eggs were hard to find, it was still an impressive number. Which meant on an average, the villagers hunted one egg each year. An exclusion being Mood and Dooms egg.
