Chapter 96 - Chapter 96

Douglas, a regular soldier at the gutters as he worked his ass off to climb the ranks.

A person who actually valued moral principles by avoiding to succumbing to the temptations of the world earned him an impressive name all over the country.

"Douglas, you're not the one who I am interested in right now but someone else. Don't waste my time." Andrew said as he examined his wrists.

There was a small tinge if pain he felt from being restrained like that. "Can you answer some of my questions?"

Douglas asked in worry, thinking that Andrew would kill him in the spot as he was now free. "Might as well." He said dismissively.

He was shocked but he regained his composure and asked his questions. "How are you so strong?"

It wasn't just him who was curious but a lot of people who viewed the interrogation. They couldn't fathom how powerful he was seemingly out if nowhere.

"How? Because I choose to be. Next question." Andrew said nonchalantly as he looked at Douglas. The commander wasn't sated with his response but he couldn't dwell on one question.

"When did you acquire your ability?" He asked hoping to clear his doubt. Even he was at awe at those superheroes, wondering how they were powerful but he couldn't investigate anything about them.

"I got them even before you existed." He replied with a small smile which quickly faded off his face.

'What are these answers?' Douglas thought. They clearly weren't helping him with his investigation whatsoever.

Before he could ask another question, a soft buzz rang and Douglas had to leave.

He was wary that Andrew would use this opportunity to escape so he made slow movements towards the exit but Andrew only looked at his with ridicule.

"I don't plan on leaving till I fulfill my goal." He said jokingly at the commander. "What is your goal?" Douglas asked.

"Nothing too important." He brushed it off as he leaned back into his chair and closing his eyes. The commander left the room leaving Andrew alone as he hummed softly to his own jingle in his head.

...

It wasn't long before another interrogator came into the room. Unlike the commander from earlier, he had worn much more professional clothing similar to a business man.

He looked at Andrew who opened his eyes and looked at him back. "Do you know who I am?" He asked.

Andrew shook his head. The reason was because his interest to know him wasn't there. The man had a smooth face, calm temperament and his black eyes was a dangerous glint of malevolence.

"Well I am here because of a little stunt you pulled at the underground club. I don't care about your sporadic murders but I am here to inform you that even though you may be powerful, there is always someone above you." He warned Andrew.

"Do you know why I am here?" Andrew asked looking intently at the sketchy man. He could tell that he wasn't with the police force or the army. It was something more sinister.

"Because you got caught." The man responded. "Hahaha!!" Andrew burst into laughter before calming himself down. "No, it's because I wanted to be caught." He said.

His voice was gritty, evidence that he had more ulterior motives for getting caught. From earlier when he burnt the house, he could have fled or resisted but he willingly chose to get arrested.

"It would seem that you misunderstood me. The reason why I am even here is so as to make a deal with your superior." Andrew said finally. The man cast a deadly glare at Andrew.

"You should really watch your tongue." He warned. Andrew remained unfazed by his threat. He looked towards the left wall which seemed normal compared to the rest.

"There a lot of eyes watching. But your superior owns that club right? Must have made a loss with it sinking but I don't mind helping." Andrew concluded.

The man was tense underneath. He didn't expect that some kid would actually know so much. 'More importantly, how did he know that I work for someone else?' The man thought as he tried to maintain a neutral facade.

It was clear that he had to take care of the matter fast or the eyes from outside would prove to be a problem later. His backer to could easily take care of the eyes present but he had a better idea.

"It's quite evident that you are skilled but that it won't land a meeting. Andrew, 22 years old, finished school a month ago. Your mother Lucy Herman is dead thanks to you and you have a relationship with a girl with Ashley Harrenware."

"From your lifestyle, you don't talk to a lot of people and you seemed to have tapped into the finance of Arnold's family somehow and yesterday, you went to Russia only to report back a couple of hours ago."

"You have relations with a girl called Yvette who is older than you. Poor background but overnight, she was able to clear all of her debts, thanks to you. After your arrival, you got into a brawl with a local gang, killed them all and fled the scene. Then you proceeded to kill your own mother by burning her alive."

"Impaled to the table with a fork and a knife. You then proceeded to burn the house. Your lover left right after then the police arrived right after." The man concluded.

He had anticipated to see any change on Andrew's face but none came. "How are you able to kill your own mother and remain this unfazed? It's clear that you're a psychopath."

Andrew looked at him. "What's your name?" He asked. The man was shocked but he responded. "You can address me as Mr. Black."

Andrew gave a small laugh before wiping it off his face. He knew the moment he left Yvette's place, he would be thoroughly investigated as there were too many witnesses.

"Do you expect me to be amazed by something you're expected to do? Thanks to that, there will be a massacre involving specific targets and their factions. It would prove worth your while."

Andrew said as he was warding his thoughts to not kill this man on the spot. Mr. Black was interested with what Andrew had in-store but he couldn't do what he pleased due to the eyes in him.

"Well, it's time to leave." Andrew said as he stood from his chair. The soldiers tried to enter the room but the door wouldn't budge. The dim light present in the room instantly went dark and when it came back on, there was no one in the room.

"What?!" They were all stupefied with this. Mr. Black was shocked as his vision went black and when he could see again, he was in the precinct anymore but in front of the tallest buildings in the city.

This company was a front of an estate agency but that was on the surface.

But of course there was more to it than that. This building harbored the leader of all the underground clubs, which facilitated drug and human trafficking at a global level among other things.

"Lead the way." Andrew said as he looked at Mr. Black. He knew who this building belonged to but he was shocked as to how Andrew knew.

In the darkness of the night, the glass would reflect the dazzling lights of the vibrant city.

'Then wouldn't be easier to come here himself.' He thought before he walked inside with Andrew following him. The secretary was shocked to see Andrew.

However she ignored him as they went into the elevator. She knew exactly what this place was so calling the cops wasn't an option.

They went to the elevator and Mr. Black set their destination. The building had seventy floors however it showed that the highest was sixty.

Mr. Black put his thumb on a discreet thumb biometric scan which seemed like a black screen and on the black screen, a new set of buttons appeared and he pressed the top one.

*Ding*

They arrived at the seventeenth floor. It was moderately lit with another lady of a secretary seated in her chair. She casually looked at the two arrivals and allowed them to walk through the door.

The door was grand, clearly expensive and imported however they didn't dwell on this and walked into the room.

The room was expansive, furnished with an air of luxury and wealth. It was barely lit making one able to easily see outside, the city was beautiful as it appeared more vibrant than it usually is during the day.

The chair was facing away from the door but as they got closer to it, it turned and a figure appeared to be seated on it.

The midnight black leather was comfortable but the figure seemed unfazed by the luxury. Andrew looked at the figure with keen interest.

"I am so sorry should he have been a nuisance to you." A soft voice rang. The source, a lady in her thirties who had a professional face, dressed in a sleek black dress and white shirt which preemptively brought out a sense of authority around her.

Her clothes clung tightly to her figure. Her face was nothing short of beautiful, her red shimmering eyes which glistened in the dimly lit room. Her rich black hair cascaded behind her back as she looked at her two guests.

Her body was a feast on the eyes, her shirt barely accommodating her breasts which threatened to pop out, swaying with each movement she made.

Her supple butt which snuggly tucked by her dress was made her charms overall drop dead gorgeous. She had a small playful smile as she looked at Andrew as she noticed his interest in her.

"Have a seat. Mr. Black, you can leave." She welcomed him with a smile. "Thank you." He responded with a smile. 'Reminds me of Mrs. Ember.' He thought.

One had a domineering and cold aura while the other had a warm and tenderly aura. They were beauties with their own charms.

"I don't like wasting time so I'll get right into it. You made a mistake and naturally there are repercussions." She said coldly with her smile disappearing from her face.

"Do you really think that you can do anything to me?" He asked with a smile. She tilted her head as he found this youth interesting.

"Do you know who I am?" She asked with a hint of curiosity. "Yes, I do and your husband. Along with your projects all over the country and outside. But I'm not here to kill anyone." He said flatly.

She was somehow disturbed by his knowledge. 'It seems that he knows more than I thought.' She mused as she looked at him.

He stood up and walked towards the windows on her side, he looked over the city before looking all over the room. He was impressed with how much the total worth of this room was worth along with the items inside.

"I am here for a business deal that will benefit both of us." He said as he went back to his chair. It was comfortable to say the least. "Really? It better be worth my while." She said as her eyes scanned all over his body.

"I know that you really don't care about that club but you have your own share of problems just like me. I know about your competition with other businesses and to which, I'll take care of all of it. Not only that, but also I can help you with your abilities in the game."

He said with a serious look on his face. "Haha." She gave a small laugh. She knew that he was a freak when it came to power but did he even know what he was immersing himself in.

He wasn't annoyed but disappointed. He anticipated that this would be her reaction. "Then let's make a wager. If I fail to do so by tomorrow, then I'll be at your beck and call." He grinned.

"Kid, don't think that because you're strong means that you can do anything you want." She said seriously as she felt that she had entertained him long enough.

"Do you think that I am unable to do so?" He asked. She silently looked at him. "Fine, let's see how you'll fail miserably." She joked as she reclined deeper into her seat.

"What is your name?" He asked despite knowing the answer. "You can address to me as Rose." She said flatly.
