Chapter 97 - Chapter 97

"I am keenly aware that you are restricted by law and by the power of other families." Andrew commented as he tried to catch a glimpse of her expression.

She successfully managed to cover all of her expressions leaving a stoic look on her face. Even though she knew that he was right, she still couldn't put any trust in him.

"Overnight, I'll rid you of all of your problems plaguing you but I require something from you." He said.

The option to corrupt her mind was on the table among other things. 'It seems that he's serious.' She thought.

Having all of her problems completely taken care of would be a nice change of pace. Who wouldn't take such an opportunity?

But of course, even if she knew that he was potent, it was evident that he wanted something in return. "What do you offer?" She asked passively.

She didn't take him seriously and decided to humor him. "You have a husband, the governor of this county." He paused as he contemplated his options.

"I enjoy mature charms as well as beauty so I don't mind-" She slammed her hands onto her desk. She could tell what he was asking for.

"Do you really think because you have an ability means that you can't be killed?" She said, tired of his acts.

"If you can kill me, then I dare you to try." He said as he pointed at his forehead with his index finger. She decided to put his antics to rest by showcasing a gun and pointing it at his head.

He didn't seem bothered, only playful as he looked at her body. She could feel his eyes roam all over her body. It disgusted her.

*Bang*

Even though the gun had a silencer, there was a faint buzz that permeated through the air. The bullet went through his head and made a hole right through and even through the chair.

She was startled that he didn't dodge. 'Is this the Telekinetic Terror?' She thought. 'He should have stopped that bullet but he didn't.'

His body lay motionless on the chair. "Did you really think that it would be that easy?" He suddenly spoke.

She was horrified by this spectacle. There was no blood that dripped from his head as it regenerated. "Were you expecting that I would stop it?"

His index and longest finger moved in a blur and the bullet that had shot him appeared in it. She couldn't fathom what had happened. 'Why isn't he dead?' She thought.

"Do you really think everything dies because you shoot it in the head?" He asked with a smile. With her body now trembling in fear, she immediately stood up and fired another shot.

*Bang*

He stopped the bullet right in front of his head and fell into his hand. "Is that what you were expecting?" He asked as he moved closer to her. She couldn't wrap around as to how he wasn't dead. 'Is there even a way to kill him?' She mused.

At first she thought that he had the body of a regular person but after seeing that, she had second thoughts. It was clear that he had multiple abilities. 'How is that even possible?'

She realized that he was closing the distance between them but she couldn't move her body. She was helpless in the presence of this abomination.

In an instant, the distance between the two was less than an arm's length. She felt nervous with a bad foreboding in her heart of what would happen. She was taller than him to which he didn't mind.

He stretched out his hand and caressed her face. A loathsome look appeared on her face but he dismissed it as his hand felt the tenderness of her creamy white skin.

It was soft and he would pinch her cheeks making them red. The fact that she didn't have that much contact with his husband made her depend on herself sparking a sense of independence within her.

After he was done, she could feel control over her body again. She wanted to leave the room but her mind was incapable of executing such a command.

She could do whatever she wanted except leave or call for help. She could feel a mental barrier preventing her from doing such things. She realized that she couldn't take him so lightly anymore.

"Maybe I'll convince you." He said as he went back to his seat. She thought that he would take advantage of her which seemed weird considering that he was much younger than her.

*Snap*

Her world went black with a snap of his fingers and opening her eyes, she found herself in the game. She hadn't gone far after the announcement as she found playing this game a waste of her time.

She couldn't find any profits for her as she was already strong and capable in the real world.

Her appearance her in comparison to the real world was worlds apart. Her, she had purple glistening hair which was the same length as her original hair. She had purple amethyst eyes which seemed to dazzle anyone who saw them and an enticing body.

But in a world where one could alter how they looked, everyone made themselves look strikingly handsome or beautiful with prominent features which was beside the point but Andrew didn't care.

"That is absolutely disappointing." She heard a voice coming from behind her. Apparently she wasn't in the same plane as Yvette but Andrew could traverse all planes to his liking.

Why would there be a streamer mode? So as to increase the worth on a person as a lot of people could see what said person had achieved.

The gains would increase with the difficulty of the area and since the place they were was a safe place, the increase was so low...

She looked back and saw Andrew, he didn't have the same clothes as her, and she was taken aback by his formal and grand clothing. It was clear that he had played this game for some time.

"This game will greatly shift the power poles of the outside world. It might not make sense now but being strong here makes you strong in the real world." He said with his hands pocketed.

'Does this explain his strength?' She mused. At first, she didn't think much of this childish game but now, she decided to fully invest in it.

"First things first, you clearly can't do anything with those clothes you have own." He said as he pulled out some clothes from his inventory.

Every player had an appraisal skill which would depend on their level. The stronger the level, the stronger the appraisal skill but there were exceptions.

Should one invest more in this skill, those of a higher level would have difficulty deciphering their opponents. And of course there were artifacts that helped one conceal their stats.

With a thought, the clothes presented to her appeared on her body. She could feel a difference in her movement.

A white and golden dialogue box appeared in front of her.

She was baffled at the sudden increase in her stats. She saw the faint purple aura within her clothes, she was baffled.

She had taken her time earlier to know the basis of the game before leaving it and knew the ranks however seeing how everything was so expensive, it acted as another factor to lose interest in the game.

He knew that she didn't seem all that interested in the game but he had an idea that would profit both sides. "The value of heloid coins will only get cheaper thus to counteract that, the game will be more generous."

He started off. "Why?" She inquired. "Because, there is a feature that I want to add enabling one to convert actual currency into heloid coins." He said as they walked towards a pub.

It wasn't crowded as people were out on missions and those present were majorly Npcs. They took a seat at a corner which was hidden. "You can do that?!"

She was stupefied. "I own this game and control the way it moves. Now, what I want is you to open a faction that will mitigate this procedure." He said discreetly.

He knew once this feature was available, the value of heloid coins would plummet substantially.

He had to calibrate that the earnings of a mission would be proportional to the heloid coins earned. And by him, he was going to pass this task to the AI operating this world.

"Okay, the post I had already set up for you is ready." He said as they left. He wasn't into beer and she preferred wine over beer so the two quickly walked outside towards the outskirts of the town.

It didn't take long before someone saw them as they were about to exit the village. "Hey!" They were interrupted.

Looking at the source, it was another player. He had an ID above his head which stated, Temperal Wind.

He wasn't that interested while she was displeased that their journey was interrupted. "How did the both of you get such good clothing?" He asked as his eyes looked at them.

He was stunned by Andrew's clothing which spoke volumes of wealth alongside Rose who had a dark red and black dress. It may have looked like a dress but it had surprisingly good stats.

The problem was the one who was wearing them. Her stats were terrible this should she engage in a fight, what would drag her down would be her stamina as she didn't practice so much in this game.

"That's none of your business, now is it?" Rose spoke with ignorance. She couldn't believe that someone could interrupt her. It was disheartening that the other party didn't know her position because if they did, then they wouldn't bother them.

Temporal Wind looked at her. 'Level 1 and yet she has the audacity to talk to me like that!' He was irritated. 'But him?' He thought as he looked at Andrew.

He couldn't sense anything off him. It was clear that he was powerful or he had something to cover his rank. Either way, the sight of them having such expensive items frustrated them.

He had been playing for four hours now and he had 570 heloid coins. It wasn't much. He knew that there wasn't a single cloth which the tag was below 500 heloid coins and that was a single shoe for an uncommon item.

What further added his shock was that her clothes were purple. 'How did she afford epic clothing?' He thought but the two ignored him and kept on walking.

Seeing them walk away, he wanted to stop them but facing such people, he didn't know whether they had epic weapons as well or better so it was better to avoid them.

Once they had left, a lot of players took sight of them but they didn't approach them due to fear of their artillery. They didn't know what weapons they had but of course, there were people who were curious.

"Hey! Can I ask you how you were able to afford all of that?" A man, huge in stature with big bulging muscles asked. His ID was Steel Fists, had an aura of arrogance and a handsome face which resembled to a famous actor in the real world.

It would seem that he had his own posse of lickers who backed him up. He thought that they had found an error or a glitch with the system which would explain their wealth.

Naturally if that was so, then he wasn't willing to allow such an opportunity to pass him by. Dark Rose looked at him with disgust as she tried to ignore him.

"I'll tell you how I got all of this money." Andrew said with a smile as he brandished a gun. It had no aura on it making it seem powerless, similar to the weapons they were all told to choose from the beginning.

Steel Fists smirked as he saw this though his smile was quickly halted. He realized that he couldn't see through his stats while for Dark Rose, she was level one.

'What is going on here?' He contemplated.
