Chapter 98 - Chapter 98

[{Remove breach}] Andrew issued a command to the system.

He had made his point and it was learnt so there was no need to make this into a spectacle. "Do you think that you can just walk off after disturbing us with your presence?" Dark Rose said as she sneered.

She was still annoyed that they were interrupted by these people. "Ignore them, we have to leave now." Andrew said as they walked further away from the village. Dark Rose wanted to establish a point but seeing this, she was forced to leave and follow him

A look of horror and shock appeared to all in the village, whether was it players or Npcs. Why? Because a frightening figure managed to appear in the sky.

It wasn't a humanoid figure but rather a beastly figure which threatened to bring death to them all. "Is that a dragon?" Rose managed to ask despite her shock.

The dragon managed to land gracefully out in the fields. "Yes. We have to get to the second part soon." He said as he approached it. The dragon's wings lay flat on the ground, offering a mounting platform.

Andrew hopper on and extended his hand for Rose to come aboard. "It won't bite." He joked as he saw her scared expression on her face. She warily approached it and scanned it thoroughly.

She could feel the dark and darkened scales with her soft dainty fingers before trying to mount it. She tried to but she fell right back to the ground.

There were sneers and jeers that came from the crowd. They were barely audible but they were there. She could barely hold her anger but she couldn't face them all let alone one of them. The idea of telling Andrew to deal with them felt like cowardice so she abandoned that idea as well.

Andrew was forced to get off and help her board it. She sat on the back of the dragon along with Andrew. The dragon raised its head as it would look down on the players. It stood on its legs and made a mighty pose.

Its blue eyes scanned its surroundings and they were ready to leave. Andrew closely held onto Rose at her waist tightly for taunts. She could feel that he was taking advantage of her situation but she didn't want to protest right now.

Before the dragon took off, Andrew recalled something and without a warning...

*ROOOOOAAARR*

The dragon opened its mouth and a cascading hell storm of fire rained upon the players. The village had a barrier preventing it from being scorched completely but a majority of the players were out so they met a gruesome fate.

They only saw blue and black flames before a dialogue box appeared in front of them.

[{You died}]

A lot of players couldn't understand why he would do so. A lot of loot appeared in front of them but none of them were interested in it. Most of the loot was white with one exception of blue but they dismissed it.

[{1500xp earned}]

[{Level 7 achieved}]

A notification appeared in front of Dark Rose. She was taken aback by this sight but at least it was beneficial to her. She couldn't care should they would want revenge for this because she knew that they would never receive such a privilege.

Should it be in the game or the real world? She was confident that she would emerge on top.

*Whoosh!!*

The dragon took off into the sky and the village which seemed expansive started to shrink till it became a mere speck.

They got lost in the clouds as the dragon seemed to pick up speed. "You are aware that you are a joke to where we're going, right?"

*************

Andrew teased Rose. She couldn't complain as she knew that he was right. "To think a level one can survive in Cathay is simply a joke." He commented as the sky slowly turned dark.

The clouds would reflect the eerie darkness that the two started to gauge in. Naturally there was a space crack in-between one part of the game and the other as they were simply mushed together.

And the soldier was space, acting as a bridge in-between the two worlds. The overall landscape of this whole game resembled a circular maze.

The weaker bosses were at the outside while the stronger ones were deeper into the maze. Naturally there was a bridge in-between the three places.

The most outer ring being comprised of ten segments which resulted to the new players starting off at different places. The middle part consisted of a semicircle but unlike the outer part, players could move to the other segment at will.

And then there was the middle or the core of the game. Some of the strongest bosses resided there and one in three would use a legendary weapons. For mythical weapons and creatures, only one was known to be at the core.

But it was rumored that there were multiple of them. For Andrew, he could easily see where they were and deal with them in a matter of seconds.

He didn't need their loot nor the goods they had to offer because he could make any weapon of his choice to his liking.

Soon the darkness was the only thing present that surrounded them with faint glimmers here and there, like stars shining on the midnight sky. It was an entrancing sight for all who would see it and be tempted to stay here.

However staying here for too long would have adverse effects as one could succumb to the darkness and the abyss, corrupting their existence whether be it players or NPCs.

That was why traversing through the void was detrimental to a lot of people as there wasn't a good format of combating it thus people opted for teleportation from one ring to another.

It was fast but it wasn't free. 'Seriously, why did you have to make everything extort the players for their money?' Andrew thought as they traversed the void. Rose was absorbed fully by the sight and was tempted to jump off the dragon and approach the spatial cracks.

An indefinite number of cracks and ripples in space would appear and disappear almost instantaneously, some lasting longer that others but it was a captivating sight.

These cracks would reek off power and energy convulsions which could decimate players in an instant. It was a great place for people to acquire exp at the price of their sanity. But a few people could remain unfazed by it such as Yvette and Ashley.

Yvette would have a tolerance to the void while Ashley with her devouring could counter it but unlike Yvette, this wasn't fully guaranteed that she would know exactly what to do unless she came here with Andrew.

It wasn't that her devouring was absolute like Andrew's which had no limits whatsoever. Her's was lower than his at a grand level but not an absolute level.

A counter mechanism Andrew instilled in her skill to control her because if he didn't then she would have no equals in this game.

Despite this horrid environment, it would seem to give birth to creatures which has strange features which by visuals made no sense. Should a regular player look at them for too long, they could succumb to madness making it all the more difficult to slay them.

But the benefit with those cracks and ripples was that players who would somehow enter them could be taken to safer places of the game or terrible places depending on their luck.

A noob player could be taken to the core of the game and slain instantly or a professional player could be taken to the outer banks of the world. Any player killer here would have their stats reset and all of their items lost forever regardless of what it was so almost no one came to this place.

The risks and dangers were simply too overwhelming with little to no diminishing returns. Dark Rose saw a huge purple crack appeared in front of them but seeing that Andrew was calm, she knew that it was expected but there was a hazy effect she felt making her close her eyes.

Upon opening them, she saw an expansive landscape of luscious green pastures. It was calming, clearly they were in a forest but this picture faded into the back as a huge city came into her sights.

As far as she could see it, the city seemed endless but that wasn't the case. It was just that this city took a huge part of the semicircular part of the game.

All kinds of starry and magical structures stood, visible from afar seem to entice and welcome those who saw it. She thought that he would stop and land somewhere outside of the city but to her surprise, he didn't seem to stop.

A blue barrier was evident and it was clear that they would crash into it. It was extremely expansive, capable of covering the entire kingdom with all kinds of intricate designs all over it.

Displaying a sense of power to ward off those who had ill intentions to the kingdom. To her surprise, they didn't crash into it but passed through it with ease and now, they floated way above the kingdom.

There were other players and NPCs who owned such monstrous creatures but the number was too low. It would be impossible to tame a dragon as they possessed their own will, not acting like a complete animal.

The only option was to tame one at an infant stage but locating the dragon nests were rare and such information was heavily controlled but if one had the right amount of cash, then one could gain privy to this information.

She was scared thinking that this was a little too eye-catching as numerous people took note of it. They weren't scared if it but rather they were amazed by it.

She could see that there was a difference in the echelon class here. Out in the farther ends, there were simple houses built as the further they went in, the more complicated and wealthy they seemed.

It would seem at the core, there was a huge castle built which indicated that there was a monarchy system present. It wasn't long before they made their descent onto an opening which several people seemed to await their arrival.

She still couldn't imagine how expansive this world was but she would check it out some other time. Right now, she had to focus on her strength.

*Whoosh!*

The dragon made it's stop, lying calmly on the ground as Andrew got off guiding Dark Rose as well. Dark Rose saw numerous people approach them. 'These people are extremely powerful!' She contemplated.

She could see their stats and they clearly dwarfed hers. It was an outrage for her to even be on their presence. The strongest one present had a level of 120.

"You're back, master!" A lady who was the strongest said as she approached them. "Yes. I hope that everything has been going well." Andrew said as he looked around. It was a beautiful landscape for the eyes with a rich array of flora all over the place.

Not far from them was a huge establishment which spoke of power. "It has all been going well. Thanks to all the help you have given us, we've been able to be the one of the strongest guilds present in Cathay kingdom."

The lady said ecstatically. She had an enchanting beautiful face, calm grey eyes, dressed in a luxurious black gown and cascading white tress.

Her bodily features were fairly prominent but what was captivating about her was her face, it was too entrancing. She had a calm and dead temperament around her making her a mysterious and enigmatic figure.

Dark Rose felt a tinge of dissatisfaction with her own appearance in comparison to her. "Please follow me, master." She said in a warm and alluring voice dripping with charm as she made her way back to the building.

Dark Rose was stupefied on how such a powerful person was serving under Andrew. But she was even more baffled on how she was able to see her stats. With the large difference, she was sure that she wouldn't be able to do so.
