Chapter 104 - Chapter 104

"You handle the civilians and help them escape safely while I deal with the monsters." Andrew said as he continued to observe the scene unfold in front of him.

He saw the struggle those below gave so as to see another day but should he make some pretentious act of saving them was something he wouldn't resort to. He had already butchered so many races and beings in the higher dimensional planes that he felt nothing inside.

"..." Star Queen realizing the weight of the matter gave a relinquishing sigh as she flew lower and started helping the civilians. To this who were stuck under the rubble or those cornered by those freaks.

"Help! Help! Help me please!" She heard a faint voice calling out of hope to which she didn't hesitate to dash and uncover the little girl stuck under the rubble.

With her monstrous power, she easily lifted up the rubble and helped the girl who was bleeding profusely out of her leg which had been broken. It truly was a pitiful sight.

The sounds of those godforsaken creatures sounded muddled and eerie which made those present subconsciously cover their ears. The girl gave off a weakened sigh before falling unconscious in her care.

As they drew near to her, she knew that she couldn't let these vile abominations get their grasp on such an innocent girl.

A huge creature suddenly erupted from the ground which seemed like an amalgamation of those clay-like monsters.

*ROAR*

It let out a deafening roar which made everyone freeze and fall to the floor. Andrew made his slow descent as he landed in-between Star Queen and the monster.

She remained unaffected before setting the girl along with Andrew. "Where are your accomplices? I thought that they would be here by now." Andrew asked as he watched the monsters terrorize the civilians.

"When do you plan on helping?" She demanded shifting the topic. Even she contemplated as to why there wasn't any help offered to them.

It wasn't that she was oblivious that some of her comrades didn't value the regular humans on this planet but at least they were good at making it. But she cared for them out of pity for their weakness.

It was questionable motive as it depended on her state of mind but it got the job the done not to mention it painted her as a hero to all which she didn't mind and gave her a positive solid ground for the public eye.

*BAM*

as her powerful fist came in collision with the monster, it blew off a huge part of it including its head.

But strangely enough, the head which had been obliterated seemed to fill back up as if it never received any damaged.

"Since it seems to be made of black claim prefer that fire is a better tool for this job. Or extreme hazardous which I'm sure is out of your set of skills." He said as she backed away from the creature.

He made a small cut on his palm and a small streak of blood dripped onto the girl.

*SWISH*

The dangling piece of leg the girl had been trying to hold onto was immediately cut off by his slime and a new leg started to grow in its stead.

"Wait! You could do that." Star Queen asked in shock. "Yes!" Andrew said as the cut on his palm continued to drip and a formation lit up beneath their feet and...

*BOOM*

The place that they were lit up into a fiery explosion of red inferno.

By now everyone had made their way out of the stadium for him to make such a move and once the fog had dissipated, the three seemed perfectly fine as a barrier had been surrounding them.

*Snap*

Andrew snapping his fingers, a large dome of the barrier that had been keeping them safe from the explosion covered them.

Star Queen was taken aback by his acts. "Since the civilians are now out of the way, all we have to do is stay here." He said calmly as he put the girl on the ground carefully.

"Stay here! You just trapped us with these monsters!" She commented. "And if I remove it, these freaks will be free to go on a rampage in the city. So make your pick."

He added on as his palm rested on the girl's forehead. He gave a small hum as the Star Queen continued to observe the onslaught that was on the horizon. So far, she couldn't even deal any substantial damage to them, only Andrew could.

"You said that you would deal with them, so get to it. I'll look after the girl." She voiced over seeing that he had no intentions of advancing.

"I don't have to it myself, physically at least." He said as his shadow started to eerily manifest itself before taking a humanoid shape which seemed like an exact copy of him save for any features.

It stood still like a sentinel awaiting orders as it looked at Star Queen. It then immediately summoned sickles which seemed to waver like paper along with its existence. Its uncanny white eyes made it all the more dangerous to look at.

"Not her but that depends on her behavior. Them." He signaled at the horde approaching them. Without a word it immediately darted at the horde of monsters.

"What is that?" Star Queen asked in shock as she saw the shadow butcher the horde of monsters. Unlike Andrew's attack of burning the clay monsters, it resorted to devour them as they seem to disappear put of sight.

Hunting like an animal, its movements were fast and agile on all fours and yet it had a humanoid shape. It seemed to pierce its prey and retrieve cores from its bodies to which numerous notifications assaulted Andrew.

He was issued to collect them to which he directed them to Rose as he didn't need any of it. It could be traded for heloid coins or used in alchemy. Some were pricier than others regarding their rank.

Andrew was then prompted to look at his assailants.

[{Murky Black Slime}]

[{B rank}]

[{These creatures usually exist in the lower surface of the earth but they usually come out periodically and usually have an appetite for creatures that are not their kind}]

[{Weakness: Fire (from a B ranker or higher) to stop their movement which hardens them to be smashed or they have cores at their bodies which is the weakness for the creatures upon shattering dissolving them back to mud}]

As his shadow continued to slaughter these beasts, Star Queen watched in amazement but Andrew seemed unfazed. The shadow was basically toying with its prey as Andrew knew that upon summoning it, it would have already cleaned up this mess.

The girl who had been unconscious this whole time finally showed signs of waking up. She tried to regain her footing but she fell down immediately after and sat on the rough ground.

Assessing her surroundings, she saw her beloved heroine standing not far from her but there was someone else that she dreaded meeting. Her parents had told her about the numerous atrocities committed by this person.

She had hoped that her hero would be able subdue him but here the pair was. Out of fear, she scurried back to which the Star Queen approached her in an effort to comfort her.

She floated her and spoke in a warm and calm voice to which Andrew stepped back trying to not complicate the matter. "Are you okay, little girl?" Her hands trying to calm her down as she helped her to her feet.

She found it weird but she was able to regain her footing though she leaned into the Star Queen. "I'm... I'm okay..." She looked around as she saw the chaos that was unfolding around her.

She held on tighter onto the Star Queen's hand as she hid behind her. Her breathing was slowly rising, hyperventilating. Realizing this, the Star Queen knelt to get level and caressed her cheek.

It was red, clearly a sign of her distress. "It's going to be okay." With a smile on her face which managed to help calm her slightly. "Where are my parents?" She asked as she looked around among the charred corpses that lay among the ruin.

A moment of silence engulfed the scene before an answer came out of the Star Queen's mouth. "They are okay and out of harm's wa-" Andrew interjected, "They're dead, lying over there."

He said as he pointed at a pair of corpses which tried to make it out but unfortunately could not. Star Queen looked at him with a detesting gaze. "What?! Mom! Dad!" She mumbled as tears started to dance on her lids.

Star Queen stood up and walked over to him as she whispered. "What is wrong with you?! She's just a kid you know. How would you feel if someone suddenly told you that your parents were dead?" Andrew shrugged it off.

"She was going to realize it anyway. And as for my parents, I'd brush it off." He let out a small laugh. She was perplexed with his response before recalling the incident with his mother.

The accusations were that he had not only killed his own mother but also slit her throat and pinned her to the chair to prevent her from escaping. It was horrific to think that a child could bear such malice towards their own mother.

'He's clearly a psychopath!' She thought. Though there were contemplations that there was someone else along with him.

*Ring-Ring-Ring*

His phone suddenly rand which forced him to pick up. He talked to whoever was on the other end before quickly ending the call. He raised his hand and the two charred bodies floated in front of them.

"Are you trying to rub it in her face?! She's just a kid!" Star Queen furiously stated but Andrew next words took her by surprise. He walked towards the girl who tried to get away from him, fearing that he would kill him but strangely enough, she found that she couldn't move an inch.

Hoping that he wouldn't kill the girl, the Star Queen tried to stop him but even she found herself in the same predicament. Andrew crouched down and was on the same level as her. He pointed towards the bodies that were afloat.

"I want you to make a decision. In life, you never get what you want but for you, I'll give you an exception. I want you to choose between your parents. Who do you want me to bring back." He offered her akin to a devil.

She was stunned, "Can you really do that?" She asked in a soft voice. "Yes, but unfortunately can't bring them both back. I want you to decide." He said as he looked at the bodies. The offer he made was unnecessary but he was curious what a person of such an age would make.

She remained silent before replying. "But I want them both back." She voiced her frustration. "I'm sorry but you have to choose or neither of them came back." He stated.

The girl met a fork in the road, she had never been exposed to the gruesome realities of life and now, she had to choose between her mother and her father. In the end, she finally made up her mind. "I can't. I want then both back."

She compromised. Andrew simply smiled as he stood up and patter her head. "I'm sorry but that isn't the answer I was expecting..."

He started off."...But you can join them." He ended off as with a tap of his finger to the girl's head, her entire body became a gory mush splattering everywhere.

*Thud*

The two bodies fell to the ground as Star Queen was shocked with what had occurred, falling to her knees. 'Didn't this guy have any sense of remorse or heart?' She thought as he saw him pocket his hands.

Naturally, the death of such a person couldn't faze him. He had done greater atrocities which failed to faze him ever since he embarked on this journey of becoming the monster that he was right now.

"Wrap it up. I've got places to be." He issued an order to his shadow as he pulled out his phone from his pants and scrolling through it.
