Chapter 4 - Chapter 04

Glacial Sphere Academy

"Hello, I'm Echo, your futuristic AI assistant, and I welcome you to Glacial Sphere Academy, where magic, science, and engineering converge to expand the boundaries of knowledge and possibility. This prestigious institute stands as a beacon of innovation and discovery, attracting the brightest minds from around the world."

The robotic figure stationed at the entrance gate delivered its well-rehearsed greeting as I walked through the arched entryway. The futuristic design of the Glacial Sphere Academy was breathtaking, built upon a massive island floating above Tosmia. Its scale was astonishing—comparable to Greenland in size.

I finally entered the gate along with my fellow cadets. Including her, she could be said to be one of noble blood since I can enter this academy. After thinking for a moment, it was better to be an extra than becoming the MC. I have no role to play to the novel so I'll just ignore the storyline and I can live the life I want to without any worry that I'll get killed in any moment.

'What ever happened in living peacefully...?'

I sighed, casting a glance at the classroom door.

NOVICE 1—AGASTIA

There is a system grade for cadets as they go higher to finish their learning.

Novice → Advanced → Junior → Senior → Expert

Novice refers to first year cadets, Advanced refers to second year cadets, Junior refers to third and so on. Agastia simply means the name of the class.

'Oh boy. I know exactly what class this is.'

Cypher Knoxx and Edge Killian, the main characters of the novel, were also part of Agastia. Edge, the troublemaker or thug as I call it will soon be creating his group which will make the class uncontrollable even by the instructors. Try as I might to distance myself from the upcoming drama, I will still be pulled in the mess they created regardless of my will.

Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes for a brief moment, mentally preparing myself before stepping through the door.

The interior of the classroom exuded a sense of modern elegance, with sleek lines and a pristine white palette that lent the feeling of sophistication to the air. Not a speck of dust can be seen on the surfaces, each corner was flawlessly clean and polished to perfection. Three long desks, crafted from the finest white material, cascaded upward and an ergonomic chairs were used.

As I quickly scanned the classroom, my gaze lingered on Edge who sat at the back. He seemed too elegant as a cloud of coldness seemed to be surrounding him. I breathed a sigh of relief as he and his friend, Whitney Owen, remained engrossed in their own conversation, oblivious to my existence.

Taking advantage of their distraction, I chose to settle into the border seat of the middle row, a safe distance from the drama and chaos that seemed to follow Edge Killian wherever he went.

As I sat there, staring straight at the holographic projection screen, I couldn't help but feel a wave of weariness wash over me. The thought of returning to school, after years of spending time working on the challenges of high school felt like a cruel twist of fate— For better or for worse, I was back in school, and there was no turning back now.

Around me, cadets were mingling, forming connections and friendships that felt foreign to me. I had always considered myself the introverted type in the real world, and now that I faced this new existence, I realized I was still at a loss for words. What could I possibly say? I don't remember any of Remillia's memories, let alone how to interact with her classmates.

The clock ticked towards 8:30 AM, the official start time for our first class. I had thought I was running late, what with having to use the portal in Aeonia to get to Glacial Sphere, but I was surprised to see an express bus running every five minutes specifically for students. Only those with the academy ID could board—the outside world remained inaccessible to everyday citizens, at least not without the right credentials.

'Why didn't I write about this in the novel?' I shook my head, dismissing the thought. Boredom tugged at me, and fatigue curled over my consciousness like a heavy blanket. I rested my head on the cool, sleek surface of the desk.

BAM!

A startling noise erupted from the doorway, jolting me awake. I shot up, heart racing as I looked up to see the source of the commotion. A door had been flung open, and in walked a figure—assertive and commanding, with an unmistakable air of authority that immediately drew everyone's attention.

The room fell silent as the instructor stepped in, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.
