Chapter 109 - The Truth

Tanya's Story

"I'm leaving!" I screamed, "You're going to marry her?! Marry Ivy?! How could you?! After everything you said, everything!"

 "Stop, Tanya-"

"No! Go to Hell!" I cried.

Tears streamed down my makeup-stained cheeks as I angrily threw my clothes into suitcases. Zeus snatched the current one I was filling.

"You act as if I'm just going to let you leave," Zeus chuckled.

"Why wouldn't you?! You love her enough to marry her, so marry her! I don't have to be here to put up with this!" I wept.

"You don't understand, she's pregnant," he clarified.

I felt as though someone had stabbed me in the gut. I heaved over in pain and fell to my knees in a manic cry.

 "How could you?!"

"I didn't!" he hissed while marching over to me.

He tossed my luggage to the side and grabbed my arms.

"What the Hell?! I snapped, "You just said-"

"I said she's pregnant. I never said by me," he growled.

I could see the anger in his eyes. Why was he so angry if he claimed he loved me more?

 "Then who by?" I pressed.

 "Dimitri," he spat.

Zeus looked disgusted to even utter Dimitri's name, "Then why ask her to marry you?!"

A devious, cruel look overtook his expression as he released me.

"I've always wanted more children," he expressed. "I figured once Ivy gives birth, I remove her from the picture, and you raise our child together."

"What the fuck are you talking about? That child won't be either of ours," I reminded.

"I don't care about that," he maniacally chuckled. What I care about is what I want. What I want is that baby. I need you to love it as our own—a start to our family."

I blinked the tears from my eyes. "Our family?"

 "Yes," he nodded.

"Why not put a baby in me instead?" I asked.

 "Why not?"

Nine months later

"Why do you insist on driving me back home?" I asked. "Just because Ivy's back in the picture?"

 "Not only that," Zeus grumbled.

I looked at him intently. An anxious look in his eyes accompanied his furrowed, worrisome brow.

"Don't tell me Deacon was right about you?" I whimpered.

"What do you mean?" he laughed.

"Deacon said you're in love with her. Despite me living with you in your room since she's left. Despite me being there to pick up the pieces of you loving another woman? Is it true?" I clarified.

Zeus rubbed his face and looked out the window of his private jet, unable to answer me.

"Do you even love me?" I cried.

Silent tears fell down my cheek as the silence grew longer and longer.

"I'm sorry," Zeus denied, "I'm in love with Ivy."

I lunged without thought. Digging my nails into his chest angrily as cries erupted from my throat, "You sorry son of a bitch! Tell me you're lying! Is that why you married her again?! What the Hell was last night supposed to be?!"

I slashed and clawed at him, but it was useless. He mounted me, pinning me to the ground in a matter of seconds.

 "Stop!" he shouted.

"NO!" I screeched. "You said to me in bed last night that it was our wedding night—that it was me you loved!"

 "I lied," he confessed.

I quit fighting, my body trembling in shock.

"I don't think I ever truly did love you, Tanya, and I'm sorry for that," he admitted.

Moments later, the jet landed. Zeus looked down at me, still pinning me to the ground.

"The driver will take you home. Cameron will be taken care of in college, no matter what. You don't have to worry about work ever again. I'll be certain you're taken care of as well. This will be the last time we see one another. Goodbye, Tanya."
