Chapter 110 - Showdown

What the Hell did Tanya confess to me? This woman was just as crazy as they come. How naive can she be?

"You don't think he ever loved you?" Eve hissed.

"Fuck you!" Tanya turned the gun to Eve.

Eve responded with a maniacal cackle.

"He never loved you! You were his way into getting to Ivy!" Eve said, "He never cared about you! Clearly! I can't believe he let you stick around and cling to him like a pathetic child!"

"You're one to talk!" Tanya growled, "You're just angry that he loves me more than you!"

"Pfft," Eve started cackling even louder, the craziness echoing on the walls surrounding us.

 "You idiot!" Eve spat.

"I-it's true, Tanya," a weak man's voice croaked.

We looked over to see Zeus staggering to his feet.

 "Zeus!" Tanya smiled.

 "Stop!" Zeus croaked.

"I told you, Tanya, I don't love you," he reminded, "I used you to get to Ivy; Eve was telling the truth.

Tanya's cries turned angry as she outreached her gun to Zeus, "You twisted son of a bitch."

"I told you I didn't love you," he said, "I do care for Ivy and Eve."

 "See told ya," Eve sneered.

 "Ahh!" Tanya shouted.

A loud echo hit the walls surrounding us once more as I felt Dimitri tower over me, keeping me safe from harm. I blinked the pain from my ears to see Tanya lying dead on the ground and Eve's pistol aimed at her.

 "Eve, don't," Zeus warned.

 "Why not?!" Eve slithered.

 Kill her.

"You told this stupid bitch the same shit you told me!" Eve jerked. With every word, she inched closer and closer to Zeus, "I'm the one who gave you Reign! Why did you need another child? One that wasn't even yours!"

 "Wait, what?" Dimitri interjected.

Both Eve and Zeus looked over at Dimitri and I.

"What the Hell are you talking about?" I asked, looking Zeus in his eyes.

"Are you really that stupid?!" Eve cackled again, "Did you think Reign was yours?"

"What the Hell are you talking about?" Dimitri threatened.

Eve uncomfortably shifted, glancing over at Zeus. Zeus rolled his eyes like a child as if having nothing to say.

"Answer him," Reign's voice came from the doorway.

"Reign? Get out of here!" Eve ordered, a look of panic swooping over her.

"Answer him," Reign pressed, Eric following behind him, "Who's my father?"

 "I am," Zeus confessed.

Reign looked as if he would be sick, "You and my mother? My mother and her father?!"

"No, no baby, he's not my father," Eve answered.

 We all froze in shock.

"What the Hell do you mean he's not your father?!" Dimitri angrily grunted.

"How stupid are you?" Eve snapped, "I was fucking Zeus before I fucked you."

I could see the hurt in Dimitri's eyes as he adjusted his grip on the gun, "What the fuck are you talking about? Reign was the only reason I stuck around. That is the only reason I tolerated Callista and put up your Zeus's bullshit!"

Reign stepped back, only he didn't look surprised.

 "You knew?" I commented.

Reign saw the recognition on my face and nodded, "I found out about a month ago. I was in Zeus's study, looking for needed documents, when I found a folder with my name on it—one with yours, Dimitri's, and Eve's."

"What's he talking about?" Dimitri grunted.

Zeus looked at Reign as if to warn him to stop, but only Reign wasn't back down. He wasn't afraid of Zeus like most people were. I could see the resemblance the more I looked between the two.

 "Tell him," Reign pushed.

Zeus shook his head angrily, "You sure you want to do this, boy?"

"Doubt me and see what happens," Reign threatened.

"I always do a background check on people I intend to.." Zeus refused to finish.

"People you intend to use and blackmail," Reign finished.

"You have one of me?!" Eve hissed, "I've been with you since I was seventeen. The only reason I fucked Dimitri was because I caught you fucking his mother!"

 "What?!" Dimitri exclaimed.

"I was with Zeus," Eve started, "I loved him since I was fifteen. I gave him my virginity, my heart, my everything. Then one day, I came home and saw him fucking your mother. They had a 'business deal,' and he wanted to ensure it went as planned."

Dimitri was at a loss for words. It looked like someone ripped his heart from his chest and stomped on it mercilessly.

"Y-You knew Reign wasn't mine all along?" Dimitri hesitated.

"Yes," Eve answered before turning to Zeus, "Was I enough? I gave you all of me, but I still wasn't enough."

 "Eve-"

"Don't!" Eve shouted while inching closer to Zeus, "I've heard your shit for too fucking long!"

Zeus held up his hands in surrender while slowly backing away from Eve.

 "Calm down," Zeus said.

"Don't tell me what to do!" Eve spat, "You think I'd just let Ivy come into the picture and take everything I earned? My right? I have been with you for the past thirty years, and do you still think I'm a fool? Think I'll fall for the same bullshit act?!"

 "I'm sorry-"

"You're sorry?!" Eve repeated, "You're a sorry excuse of a man!"

 "Don't-"

The echo of more gunshots radiated a piercing ring in my ears. I heaved to my knees as chaos ensued. Both Eric and Reign grabbed me, removing me from the room.

"No, Dimitri!" I cried, "I can't leave him."

I was unable to fight back as they dragged me outside. The sound of more gunshots firing echoed from the open windows.

"Don't do it, son!" Zeus's dominating voice echoed in the vast night.

The three of us stopped, turning back to see Zeus with a gun. Without hesitation, he openly shot Eric.

"No!!" I cried, falling to hold Eric's gushing wounds, "Eric, please wake up! Wake up!"

"Wha's wrong with you?!" Reign attacked.

The two began fighting, exchanging blows, and doing their best to hurt one another. A numbness overtook me as Eric lay dead in my arms.

 Kill them.

The dark, slithering voice spoke within me. I grabbed the gun near me without hesitation and held it towards the two of them. My eyes locked on the target, but I struggled to pull the trigger. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, and a loud shot echoed through the night. My eyes threw open to see Zeus lying dead on the ground and Dimitri standing there, holding a bloody wound on his lower torso. Reign ran over to support him as he hobbled over to me.

"Ivy? Ivy? Are you okay?" Dimitri hesitated.

"He killed Eric," I emotionlessly responded.

"I'm sorry," Dimitri apologized in sorrow.

 "Get me out of here."
