Chapter Sixty-Two
Ethan took a sharp breath. "Let me make one thing clear—this? What you've done? It's not only foolish, Emilia. It's suicidal."
I flinched at the venom in his voice.
"I know" I whispered.
"Do you?" He shouted louder "Because it certainly doesn't look like it!"
Vickson whirled back to him. "Ethan, shouting isn't going to fix this"
Ethan growled his glare at him "Neither will he pretend this is not a death sentence!" He gestured at me "She stole Marcus Kane's book, Vickson! Do you even know what that means?"
Vickson's jaw hardened but he said nothing.
Ethan's gaze returned to me and his eyes were filled with something I couldn't quite identify.
"And you" he repeated quietly but savagely "You understood. You recognized what would happen if he did find out about it. So inform me, Emilia—why?"
I swallowed hard looking up into his eye "Because i didn't have any other option"
He once laughed with a harsh note to it "No option? That is horseshit and you know it"
