I quickly hid behind Alpha Chris's back because Ray, the monster on the prowl, was now in front of us, and I didn't want to go back with him.
"So you've been hiding my bride-to-be, Chris," Ray said, making me shudder. His voice made me want to run as fast and far away from him as possible. I didn't want to be in his custody anymore. I didn't want to be the object of his lust.
"I'm not hiding her, Ray. She's my guest." Alpha Chris turned to me. "Right, right, Ioris?"
I didn't respond to Alpha Chris' question—not at all. My arrival at his place was due to a kidnapping. I said kidnapping because his men knocked me unconscious so that when I woke up, I was already in this place.
