The screams and snarls coming from the outside world were nothing more than a symphony of mockery as Bishop realized just how bad things had gotten.
Looking out the window from his 15th floor office, he could easily see the puddles of blood and limbs reflecting in the subtle moonlight. Little figures raced around in the darkness, bumping into each other even as the Z-Pack continued to herd them into a single group.
There was something almost hypnotic about it all like dolphins swimming around a pool of fish to make it easier to make the kill. The animals, more zombie than human, more wolf than zombie, criss-crossed with one another as they snapped at the heels of the poor citizens.
"We need to do something," snarled Réne, no longer able to sit on the couch. "We can't just let everyone die like this. We promised a safe haven from the outside world. What will happen if it gets out that our walls are better at keeping people in than they are at letting them out?"
