As of on cue, and I swear I had nothing to do with it, the elevator opened, and a swarm of guards in combat gear and guns poured out like clowns in a clown car.
"You know what we are missing?" I sighed, slumping a bit on my throne. "The killer clowns. I kind of miss the freaks. They seemed to have added just the right amount of spice and screaming to any situation."
Gerald looked at the approaching men and women like he had just been granted a reprieve from death. I almost didn't have the heart to tell him that he was simply dreaming while awake.
"They aren't here to save you," I sighed, wishing that this man was a bit more entertaining. "You're here… that makes you a failed experiment. And what do we do to failed experiments?"
Before Gerald could reply, one of the lead guards shot a man with too many arms in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. I wanted to say that he was dead, but unlike the soldiers who were 'clearing' the floor, I was smart.
