Chloe's smile widened as she regarded Angel, but it didn't quite reach her eyes.
"I stopped by to chat with you, just in case you were bored. I saw your sister talking to Eli. It seems you move fast in your family," she said, and looked down at Angel's stomach.
In that moment, the past flashed through Angel's mind.
First it was Ava, and then it was Athena in a way. She even had to deal with Vivian too.
The one conclusion she drew was that at least these women were true to themselves.
Not the one who was trying her hardest to look like a dead woman.
"What can I say? We usually know what we want, and go after it passionately." She shrugged.
"And what is it you want?" She slowly lifted her gaze into Angel's face. "Ivar?" Her fake smile never faltered.
"Ivar?" Angel chuckled. "Why should I settle for a servant when I can have the king?"
She saw the smile wipe off Chloe's face faster than travelling light, and rejoiced inwardly.
