"Xena…." Elijah called out; he couldn't bring himself to say anything else to her other than call out her name.
Xena raised her brows at him. "What? Did I stutter?" she asked, sharpening her gaze at him, as if daring him to refute her words. And when he didn't, she smiled knowingly at him. "Right, you have nothing to say to me as usual." Xena muttered under her breath and turned her back to walk away.
But before she could take a step, Elijah grabbed her hands and pulled her toward him, turning her so they could face each other. He didn't allow Xena to utter a word before he lowered his head and descended his lips on hers, kissing her with every breath in him. This was one thing Elijah had always desired to do—having Xena in his arms.
