"Eve! Wake up! You are just dreaming." Alaric tapped her shoulders and gently shook her body.
Eve was crying, calling her mother in her sleep. Alaric could tell that she was having a nightmare.
It did not take long before Eve peeled her eyes open. Her face was soaked with her tears.
Her heart was still pounding so hard against her chest and her body was sweating profusely. She panted heavily, catching her breath.
Then suddenly, Eve pushed Alaric away.
"Leave me!" she roared at him, shocking Alaric.
He didn't know why Eve was mad at him. He could even see hatred in her eyes as she stared at him.
"Why? Did I do something wrong to upset you?" Alaric asked her, his heart constricting in pain.
'What happened to her in the forest? What's with her sudden change in behavior?' Alaric clenched his fists.
"Just leave me. I don't want to see you right now," Eve responded coldly.
