CHAPTER 12 – First Chapter
[Alastor's perspective]
"How does one attain immortality Astaroth?"
"How impudent of you, Alastor no build up and straight to the point I must remind you that you are talking to an ex-duke of hell I was stripped of my position as a duke due to-"
"Your own mistake, you're no longer deemed worthy of the title of a duke of hell how funny the once all-knowing demon was stripped of his position"
"Do you consider me that dumb to believe this stupid lie?"
"Well, I did not expect you to see through it, but I'd like to avoid that topic so returning to your question"
"I suppose you know the consequences to making a human immortal?"
"So, you know that I am planning to make the human immoral huh? That saves me some time and I suppose you know that I must do this right? -"
"curiosity? Am I right? But to defy the laws of hell and heaven just for curiosity is not something I would expect from one such as yourself Alastor"
"Well, you are half correct since I am mostly bored from hell, but I want to kill that human named Vasilias"
"If my memory serves right Vasilias killed the first vessel of yours, right? At that time, you were crazy about wanting to go to the human world"
"That king made a contract with you for power, right? He was losing the war miserably and He was cornered so he made a contract with you for power"
"And that king killed your vessel without mercy, and you became a laughingstock to the people of hell"
"Yeah, I was humiliated in-front of everyone because of that human and I want revenge I need that human's soul it does not matter to me if I forfeit my rights as the duke of hell"
"All I want now is to torture that human's soul for an eternity no matter the cost and I want to confirm something right now"
"So, I ask you once again Alastor how does one as a human attain Immortality?"
"There are 2 way's a human can attain immortality one of them is to get the blessing of a divine blessing like Vasilias and no divine being would grant a human immortality"
"And defy the laws of nature for one human.... the only being that can do so is that being called ''■■■■'' and there is no chance he would do it again"
"I think so at least so moving onto the next way, the second way to attain immortality as a human is to eat the flesh of an immortal being"
"So, for a human such as Shikaku to attain immortality would have to eat the flesh of vasilias"

"I just want his soul but if I can make that human immortal, I could use an immortal human's body to roam around in the human realm"
[Shikaku's perspective]
I can completely trace the way now tomorrow is the day of my freedom
DAY 1825
5 Whole years have passed since I killed Thaddeus and ended up in jail and about 4 and a half year have passed since I killed Kenji
'Time flies' they say but these past 5 years felt like hell, they felt like 50 years of hell
I can't feel happiness at all even at the end of this hell this place has only brought me bad memories
I killed Kenji
I killed Thaddeus
I became a coward murderer even though I got a punishment for killing Thaddeus I could not atone for killing Kenji
I killed Kenji who was my best friend even though we only knew each-other for a short time period of 1 year he was like a brother to me

The time had come, to leave this all behind yet there was one task I had to complete and that was to find that place in my dreams that I traced over the past months
The guard who had been quiet all this time spoke something, and it was
"You have served you're sentence; you are now free to go but the king has summoned you and we must take you to him"
I agreed and then he took me to the king although I think he would have taken me with him either way
We reached the king's hall
"Shikaku you have been a good inmate these past years and you are a young man with a bright future ahead"
"So, I would like to offer you the position as the general of my army"
Well, I can't say I did not imagine him asking this, but my answer remains the same I cannot accept this position at first this was because of my personal reasons
My laziness but now this is my answer because of Kenji he had a dream to become the general of the army to marry Isadora but alas he couldn't succeed because
I killed him, If I accept this position as the general it would make me the worst human possible, to trample on someone's dream like this
I must refuse this offer
"No, my lord I must humbly decline the kind offer the reason being I do not think of myself worthy to be the general of your lordships army"
Well, this isn't a complete lie as well, so I considered this a good thing to say
"Very well then, I must grant you one wish Shikaku, you have a bright future ahead of you I believe you will excel at anything you do"
"For your bright future that might be ruined because of your past mistakes so to secure your future you may ask me for one thing"
"My lord if I may ask for one thing, I wish to see my cell for the last time alone with no guard around at all"
"!?" He looked pretty shocked after hearing that well duh he would because No criminal would use such a useful opportunity to see his dirty cell once more
"Shikaku I want you to think carefully about this"
Well I get what you mean king, but my wish is set in stone I knew you would ask me something like that because you gave me hope
And took it because you already have a general in mind I heard from the other guard's gossip, and you never intended to give me the general position
If I had said yes, you would get me a duel with that person and make him win from one way or another
So, when I refused you accepted it quite easily and did not try to force me to become the general of your army instead you just assumed that a guard filled me in on this
"Yes, my lord, I am sure" I made smug face to show him that I am not pretty interested in saying the same thing twice
"Very well then you may visit that row of the cells without any guards monitoring you, but I may inform you that if you try anything that may violate the law you will receive punishment befitting of that crime" he had an intimidating look on his face while saying this
After the king said that a guard escorted me to the entrance of the jail and then as per my wish, he called the other guards to him and then they said they will wait for me at the entrance
I entered the jail and began to navigate through it to get to the place I wanted to reach all this time but strangely enough the navigation's led me to a dead end well there is a place behind it for sure
I certainly did not expect the king to hide a normal place so damn well but gladly magic exists and I can use it well
But offensive magic is quite hard to use since it requires a large amount of mana to use and I don't have much mana to spare..
Luckily Eckhart developed a way to use it without using much mana and that way works like this
Normally offensive explosive magic requires a lot of mana since we use mana to destroy mana at a high intensity level so we can create an explosion
But Eckhart thought what if instead of using two different mana particles we use only one mana particle and to ignite that mana particle
We will first divide the mana particle into two particles and then use the other half of the particle to explode the rest of the particle
So, this makes explosion magic way easier Eckhart was not able to make this method public due to his death and his methods remain unknown to this day
Now I can use this way to explode the fake dead end and make my way through this wall to that place in my dreams
"EXPLOSION!!" I had absolutely no need to say that, but I wanted to say this to make it sound more spell-like and have a feel to it
Luckily Eckhart also knew a way to make explosion magic silent so, I didn't have to worry much about the guards barging in after me blowing the wall like a maniac
Behind the wall was the area I sought for quite a long time now and it really was a special area since it only had one cell.
The cell had a weird feel to it I knew it was trouble it just had this weird aura from it I felt the terror somehow, I felt scared
I had to enter that cell
I needed to enter that cell
I want to enter that cell
I entered that cell and saw his burn marks his hands were restrained his hairs covered more than half of his face his body looked strong he was huge
His chest was half burnt yet he looked alive his bones were visible to me I felt sick watching him I vomited
I felt dizzy his eyes were looking at me he moved a little I saw his golden-brown eyes he looked like he was in pain
A lot of pain, he had been in a lot of pain for a long time he looked at me with hope in his eyes he said something
"Kill... Help? Kill... Me Kill me I... beg for death"
It was no louder than a whisper the words were not clear to me at first, but he kept repeating them he asked me to help him
He asked me to kill him by my own hands I had to take another life I need to take another life this time to relieve him of his misery
Pure Fury summoned in my hand without me even having to shed a drop of blood I had to use Pure Fury to take his life
Without hesitation this time intentionally I slit his throat and chopped his body into pieces, but something was strange
I started hearing voices they repeated
"Eat him"

I could not control my urges to eat his flesh

The guards were screaming at the time they were screaming my name at the top of their lungs
I couldn't process what I just did but one thing I knew was that I had to go I quickly wiped my mouth and replied to their screams I re-made the wall I broke quickly
I left the place finally at last I left that jail
The guards told me that my clothes that I wore 5 years ago when I was here were lost so they gave me 5 silver and 10 copper coins usually a prisoner gets about
5 silver coins but as compensation for my clothes they added 10 copper coins to it so I could buy new clothes
For now, they just gave me normal used clothes of a guard it was a normal plain old cloth and a pair of leggings
I still felt nauseous
I felt sick
I felt sick
I collapsed
