Isla leaned against the cold stone wall trying to ignore its sharpness poking at her skull. Somehow the horrid smell of the dungeon seemed to have gotten worse over the past few weeks. She didn't know if it was because of the waste bucket in the room or that her pregnancy seemed to make everything worse. Her limbs were very weak and thin. Her stomach had gotten bigger making her look like a lollipop.
Lucian sat in front of her his eyes closed. She had gotten closer to him the more time they spent together. She viewed him as a father figure and she loved how he cared for her. It made her miss the outside world. The guards always seemed to ignore him like he didn't exist whenever they came to give her food. The guards had been surprised to find out that she was pregnant when her baby bump became bigger.
"I'd never have guessed that," one of them had said.
