Obinna's face was a storm of emotions, anger, disbelief, maybe even guilt. But Ebere didn't care.
She refused to let Nnenna be defamed. Not after everything she had been through.
"Didn't you hear everything that was said?!" Obinna's voice was sharp, cutting through the tense air of the chamber. "Father said it himself, the person closest to them in his final moments heard it, he said, 'I love her, I love her.'
Doesn't that tell you something? Doesn't that mean she must have found a way to either seduce Father or manipulate someone into doing it for her?"
His eyes burned with fury as he glared at Ebere. "I do not care what you think. The only reason I called you here was to warn you, stay away from her."
Ebere stood frozen for a moment, disbelief washing over her. Then, her expression hardened. "Thank you for your warning, Second Brother," she said evenly. "But I'm not going to stay away from her." She stepped forward, voice unwavering.
