Cedric walked through the bustling city, Aurelia still clinging to him.
She had insisted on showing him around the city, and wouldn't take no for an answer.
So now Cedric was stuck with Aurelia clinging to his side like a leech.
"What happened to your 'keeping up appearances' act?" Cedric questioned the clingy girl.
"EH, I don't care about that right now! I'm taking my chance while I still can! And not like many people recognize me anyway!" Aurelia giggled as they walked down a street.
'The words of what transpired in the palace hadn't spread yet it seems...' Infidels were living their best life, however, they were hollow in their souls as they lacked the light of God.
How could one gain true happiness without God, it was impossible. They may believe their lives were good however, they lacked a crucial part that would fill their empty souls.
Aurelia's duty was important, she had to establish the first church, and for that goal, the royal family would need to be 'Adjusted'.
While Aurelia wasn't even considered as the candidate for the throne that did not matter, they were all Infidels, they were illegitimate rulers.
However, dealing with the succession can wait. Cedric's goal was to eliminate the Assasin organization that dared raise their blades against First Star, and unlike the Royal Family, their use was limited.
'Where to even begin my search hmmm...' His eyes swept over the streets, scanning for anyone suspicious.
While Assasin classes were mixed between populace that did not mean they were a part of the organization.
Cedric needed to find a clue, a mere strand he could latch onto. Perhaps someone with a title like King's advisor.
However, he had no luck, despite the immense power of [God's Eye] he couldn't find something that he didn't even have an inkling of where to start looking.
Even his enhanced body would be overwhelmed by information of hundreds of thousands of humans flooding into his head.
"Cedric! We should visit an Inn! I know a great place where food is on par with the royal palace!" Aurelia giggled as she pulled Cedric after her.
'I guess it can't hurt... Might be the perfect opportunity for prayer.' Cedric nodded as he let himself be dragged by the eager princess.
The city was bustling with life as one would expect of a capital, with so many infidels.
However no actual demons as far as Cedric could see, it gave him some hope for these Infidels, once demon worshippers were purged, tricked humans would be brought into the fold.
Looking at the city filled him with a sense of Dejavu, it was like he walked through a major city of Europe, only lacking in Christian symbolism.
People seemed to not recognize Aurelia, and if they who would believe a princess was going outside with only a single guard?
Aurelia and Cedric made their way past the bustling market, rows of people making way for the terrifying warrior.
"We are here!" Aurelia finally let go of Cedric as she made her way inside the inn.
"Golden Cup... Worldly name..." Cedric read the sign, such a name did not glorify God, however, he reminded himself that they were Infidels.
"Oh, Aurelia! You are visiting again!" An older woman, with short gray hair and a pale complexion, spoke to Aurelia.
"Yes, granny Anna!" Aurelia was clearly happy when speaking with the woman, seemingly one of the rare humans who treated her with the respect her station deserved.
"Dearie it's rude to call anyone granny!" The woman chuckled as she jokingly reprimanded Aurelia.
"Sorry!" She apologized promptly while bowing.
"So who is the scary-looking gentleman?" Anna asked, her eyes wandering to the armored figure.
"My future husband!" Aurelia stated with pride, which prompted Cedric to facepalm.
"Oh my! Little Aurelia finally found herself a proper man! Wait here I will cook something good for you! Please find a seat." Anna rushed to the kitchen, leaving the pair behind.
"I keep telling you Marriage is out of the question." Cedric couldn't let the princess get the wrong idea, he still had a holy duty to fulfill.
"I know I know you have the holiest mission from God, but once your mission is done there will be no issues right? I will be helping you fulfill it anyway!"
With a sigh, Cedric answered, "We will see, Aurelia. God may have further use of me."
"Maybe the next mission is to make holy babies!" Aurelia gripped Cedric's arm before shouting loudly, enough that the whole Inn could hear her.
'And here it is, her usual lust...' Cedric facepalmed once again.
"No," Cedric's answer was short and clear.
"Sureeee! But I know you like me at least a little bit. I will keep proving myself, and one day you will agree to marry me!"
'It feels like she got bolder ever since I had given her some attention.' Cedric did not particularly mind her antics, she was a flawed human after all, and now after embracing Christianity his tolerance and patience for the princess increased tenfold.
To Cedric, Aurelia was in a fine spot, as long as she did not revert or get tricked by demons she would be a fine First Star.
"There is a spot right over there!" Aurelia gripped Cedric's arm as both of them took their seat, the chair creaking under Cedric's weight.
"This makes us look like a proper couple!" Aurelia couldn't help but blush slightly as she stared at her beloved.
"No, Show patience, Aurelia. Do not be so eager." Cedric declined again.
"What if some wench steals you away from me!"
"I am not interested, I have my mission."
"Good! Means I have the highest chances!"
It took some minutes before Anna arrived from the back, carrying two plates of some kind of stew.
"What is this?" Cedric asked, after all, he had never seen a white stew before.
"It is a cream stew! You will love it I assure you, I made sure to put extra meat in your portion, sir, Aurelia's husband needs to be strong after all." Anna winked before disappearing in the back again.
'Great now a rumor will spread...'
With a sigh, Cedric clasped his hands in prayer.
