Aurelia's [Ascension] would not be like those before her, and Cedric planned to use Aurelia to test his class editing capability.
Her lower class, being Paladin, fit her quite well, and so it would remain so, however, higher classes would need to be chosen and prepared well.
Ascension brought his mind into the similar void that greeted him at the end of his life, and yet this time, it was filled with stars.
<<[Ascension-Mana Forge] requires the sacrifice of 25 Apex Levels. Do you confirm, Yes/No>>
The price was steep, however, that price would allow Cedric to completely tune Aurelia to the Lord's light, and she would become a perfect Paladin of the Lord.
'I swear I will turn you into a perfect warrior.' Cedric focused once more.
A single mistep would cause Mana Forge to fail.
<
<
Before his very eyes, the darkness that surrounded him gave birth to 5 motes of light, They danced in the air before colliding and erupting into a kaleidoscope of light. After a blinding flash, a spectral version of the princess stood before him.
"It seems [Ascension] is capable of handling this part automatically; however, using [Mana Forge] to customize the process requires manual input... good to know," Cedric murmured quietly. He stepped forward, reaching for spectral Aurelia.
<
It felt strange understanding such weird messages, however, he had learned not to question God's blessing long ago.
Aurelia had a choice between Grand Paladin and Cleric of Holy Light for her medium class. Grand Paladin focused more on close-quarter combat using the Holy Light, while Cleric was a caster and a healer.
'Aurelia is a sword user, she may remain a Grand Paladin.' Cedric made his choice.
<
question was robotic and emotionless.
"100," Cedric stated.
<
He felt Aurelia's pain as the immense power descended into her; her very soul cried out in pain, and yet, it merely lasted a moment.
"Please endure, you have to!" Cedric shouted.
<
<
<
<
'Another sacrifice... God truly is wonderful.' He would not be stingy; Aurelia needed this, and God had decreed her worthy.
"Create class, The First Star." His voice echoed through the void, holy power given shape.
<
Now, he would need to assign High levels to her.
If medium hurt her so much, then what would High Levels do to her?
He would not risk her life. Cedric started by assigning 1 Level, and yet that alone caused her Astral form to wince in pain, fortunately manageable.
1 by 1, Cedric assigned the levels. Making sure her Astral form was not shattering from pain and influx of power.
<
<
<
<
"She lost all of the skills and buffs, hmm..." Cedric sighed; he wouldn't be able to save any apex levels, fortunately, it seemed God had specifically ordained the Apex levels for this exact function.
Once again, he couldn't help but pray to the Almighty Lord and thank him for such an honor.
<
Cedric still had 60 Levels to spend, Aurelia would be granted as much power as he could grant her.
"Assign Buffs!" Cedric shouted. He observed his own status, he had obtained many buffs; however, Aurelia seemed to be limited, unlike him.
[Holy Immunity], [Dark Immunity], [Magic Nullification], [Divine Charm], [Curse Resistance], [Disease Resistance]
Cedric thought about giving her immunity to Pain or to Physical, however, it was not necessary at the level of power she was at. On the contrary, it would merely make her grow complacent.
<
It was steeper than expected but truly worth it.
"Assign Skills!" His words once again echoed.
Aurelia had lost the Apex skill he had granted her before.
"Why should I not grant her the skills by using Mana Forge Bestowal?" Cedric asked the void.
<
The voice of Mana Forge echoed; it explained enough.
In a way, Bestowed skills were borrowed while ones granted in Ascension were truly part of the Host's soul.
[Divine Storm], [Holy Strike], [God's Holy Light], [Divine Zeal].
He had granted her Apex skills that would allow her to heal and purge.
<
While he had granted her Apex skills, she would need levels beneath Apex.
[Create Holy Scripture], [Purify], [Dispel Ailment], [Holy Ressurection], [Turn Undead], [Create Lesser Angelic Construct].
<
He had browsed the skills that could be granted by Mana forge and came to the conclusion that these would be fitting.
She had a similar skill set as Cedric himself, a proper warrior of God.
He had not regretted it for even a second; she was the first Christian in this pagan world, and so she was deserving of God's grace.
After all, he was sure God would grant him more of these Levels once he deemed it necessary, and just as Cedric was thinking about it, God revealed his next mission.
<
<
"God, you truly are merciful!" Cedric clasped his hands.
"God, I pray that you may grant judgment to those who refuse you, I pray that you will show the truth to those who will convert. Amen." A short prayer, and yet no matter how short, it was important.
With a deep breath, he was transported back to the ruined garden. Aurelia collapsed before his feet, clearly not handling the Ascension well.
Cedric crouched next to her and gently picked her up in his arms.
"I will carry her to somewhere where she can rest. Tomorrow, her training begins." Cedric couldn't even begin to explain how important it was for Aurelia to get proper training; she had the power to level mountains with a single swing now.
'She needs control. I do not want her to accidently erase this city off the map...' Cedric was slightly concerned.
