Without thinking twice, she quickly moved and held his hand, stopping him. She didn't know why her heart couldn't bear letting him leave without clarifying things to him.
I don't understand it," she admitted, her voice trembling. "I don't understand what's happening to me. I don't understand what I feel when I'm around you." She sucked in a shaky breath, her chest rising and falling. "You drive me insane, Rhydian. You infuriate me. You make me want to scream, to run, to fight you at every turn. And yet—"
Her voice broke, and she hated the vulnerability that clawed at her throat, this was the first time she was doing something this insanely ridiculous, and yet, she didn't hesitate to keep going.
"And yet, you're the only person who's ever made me feel alive, you're the only one to ever protect me even when you knew I was perfectly capable of defending myself. You're the only one to ever show fear of losing me."
