It was late in the evening when Aurora had made up her mind to pay a visit to the Empress Dowager, asking Anne to help her get ready for the audience. She had sent Amy a while ago to inform the Dowager about her arrival, but the girl was yet to come back. Why, she could not tell.
Anne helped Aurora place her mask on in silence, but when that became too unbearable, she finally sighed, putting the mask down with a thud and turning her full attention to the girl in the mirror. "Okay, I have had enough. Are you going to tell me what this is all about?"
Aurora looked up at the girl with a raised eyebrow. "I'm afraid I dodn't know what you mean."
"You know exactly what I mean!" Anne exclaimed, sighing at the clueless girl. "Why are you going to the Dowager when you weren't summoned? What do you plan to do now? Are you going to report back to her about His Majesty? Did I not tell you it is dangerous? If His Majesty were to fund out, he-"
"I'm going to decline Her Highness's offer."
