Morana's Point of View
I arrived at the agency, gripping the steering wheel tightly before finally exhaling. Today was the day. The beginning of everything.
The moment I stepped into Sophia's office, I barely had time to take in my surroundings before Marcus pounced on me like an angry watchdog.
"Where have you been?!" His voice was sharp and impatient. "I never expected you to be so lazy. Look at when you're coming! You better not ruin this for Sophia!"
I rolled my eyes, but I didn't say a word. He wasn't worth the breath it would take to respond.
He huffed in irritation before grabbing my arm and nearly shoving me toward the dressing room. I wanted to snap back, to put him in his place, but I held back, biting my tongue with a tight-lipped smile. Not yet. I had bigger plans. He wasn't even a piece on my chessboard, just a speck of dust on the playing field.
The moment I stepped into the dressing room, my eyes landed on the outfit hanging on the clothing rack.
