Morana's Point Of View
I forced a tight-lipped smile, keeping my expression neutral even as my stomach churned. This was it, an opportunity I had been waiting for. Sophia thought she had it all, but she had no idea she was playing right into my hands.
"I suppose I have no choice," I said, sighing as if I were reluctant. "If it's for the good of your career, Sophia, I'll do it."
I saw the triumphant glint in her eyes as she smirked, rubbing Davian's arm possessively, like she was reminding me of my place. My jaw clenched involuntarily, but I quickly schooled my features.
This wasn't about Davian anymore. He had made his stance clear—he didn't care about me. I was just a tool to be used, nothing more.
Davian nodded, satisfied. "Good. You'll be wearing a mask, so no one will be able to tell the difference. It will be a flawless switch."
A mask? My lips twitched at the irony. As if I hadn't been wearing a mask all along.
