Thud!!
Lin Ziao fell to the ground, mainly because of exhaustion.
The sun was already rising and the dew on the leaves had gained a faint, golden glow due to the sun's rays.
It announced peace and joy, waking everyone in its ascent but not Lin Ziao.
He had already been through too much and if there was anything he desperately needed it was sleep. His weak, frail and injured body only further worsened the case he was currently in.
His whole body protested, each part of his body, wanting something different from the other.
His stomach protested for food,
His arms for rest,
His mind wanted to understand what had happened during what should have been his last moments on the face of the earth.
That's true, what had truly happened at that point? The teenager asked himself.
It looked as if he wanted to attend to his mind but it was just curiousity that had taken the better hold of him.
He looked at his arms that had become fair again, the overgrown nails he had seen when he transformed looked as trimmed it had always been.
Wanting to know further, he makes an attempt to think but he hears a sound that made him blush in utter embarrassment fortunately, no one was at his present location except him and the corpse of the creature that laid dead few metres away from him.
It really originated from his visibly hungry stomach.
Grruuuggh!!
It seemed that he had to attend to his stomach first.
He quickly crawled to the site of the former campfire and struck the stones to make a fire and luckily his luck wasn't so bad this time around.
The fire quickly rose and he set to work. He skins the creature and after that he removed the unwanted parts of the animal and sets it meat to roast.
Few minutes later
***
Lin Ziao is seen quenching the fire by stomping it with his worn out boots. The fire quickly goes down and he looks at the bright , morning sky.
He sees the birds flying towards a certain direction and he followed after them.
He soon arrived at a somehow large stream of water and bends down to take a sip of the water. His arrival scared away the birds that were drinking before him but he barely paid any attention to it. His focus instead was on the water he drank.
How refreshing!!
Truly as cold as ice!!
Sweet!!
Countless remarks flew out of his mouth through his lips as he drank handful after handful of water, slowly hydrating his already dry throat with a continuous flow of sweet and cold water.
This felt so refreshing; another remark found its way to his mouth as he filled himself with water, only leaving some space for the food— the one he continuously thought about.
After this he brought out the usually leather sack he used for water. He fills it to the brim and began his journey of tracing the way he came from— one that proved to be an intractable problem.
After some moments of panicking, he sees his footstep that was barely visible and quickly followed it, for the fear that if he didn't it would vanish.
After he arrived at the campsite, he eats the saltless meat that his hunger seemed to make very delicious.
He quickly finished the meat and packages the remaining meat, puts his spear in his bag, he takes a look at the hide before reluctantly deciding to carry it along.
His reason was that if he got to the next town, he could sell it for a substantial amount of money and he really needed money if he wanted to survive this journey.
Yeah! Something etched itself to my mind when I transformed.
It- It is a cultivation technique!! Wait, is this for humans?
