Chapter 34 - CHAPTER 33: The Morning After the Worst Night of His Life

The sun was barely peeking over the horizon, casting a golden glow over the village as the morning mist still clung to the air like a reluctant dream. The soft chatter of villagers filled the space, along with the clanking of pots and the occasional call of a rooster.

Lidia stood among them, arms crossed, eyes half-lidded with sleep deprivation.

She hadn't gotten much rest.

Not because the bed was uncomfortable—it was fine. Not because the room was cold—it was warm enough.

She hadn't gotten much rest because she had spent half the night grinning into her pillow, reliving the way the knight had gawked at her in pure, unfiltered disbelief when she claimed he was inlove with her.

It had been beautiful.

The look of rage. The way his eye twitched. The internal suffering he had endured.

Lidia let out a small, victorious sigh.

She was going to cherish that memory forever.

But now, it was morning, and despite her lack of sleep, she had a journey to prepare for.
