Lidia wasn't sure when exactly she noticed it.
At first, she thought she was imagining things—just her paranoia acting up because, well, the knight had always been cold, unreadable, and annoyingly serious. But the more she paid attention, the more uneasy she became.
Every time she lifted her gaze to sneak a glance at him, she would find him already looking down at her, his sharp, calculating gaze analyzing her like she was some kind of rare specimen in a laboratory.
It was unsettling.
Normally, she would just subtly lean against him, relaxing against his broad, armor-clad chest, letting herself doze off while the rhythmic movement of the horse lulled her into comfort.
But not today.
Nope.
Not happening.
Today, she sat stiff as a board, her back straight, her hands gripping the saddle as if her life depended on it.
Something had changed.
