Lidia had thought the hardest part of the journey was over.
She had survived the temple, the Journey, THE HORSE. She had even made it to Emphaie without Achilles throwing her off his horse and abandoning her in the middle of nowhere.
Standing outside the grand gates of Diviliness Estate, she smiled.
Massive iron gates stretched high, shining under the sun, decorated with intricate silver filigree and the family crest—a snarling wolf's head with deep red eyes. Beyond the gates, the estate sprawled like something straight out of a noble's fantasy.
The mansion was built from polished white stone, with towering glass windows that reflected the sky like mirrors. Vines of deep green ivy coiled around the columns, adding an air of ancient elegance. Even the path leading up to the entrance was pristine, lined with rose bushes in full bloom, their scent rich and heavy in the air.
"So this is where Lidia used to live."
