It was absurd, really. She barely knew him. He was grumpy, cold, and only slightly less terrifying than the rogues she had met. And yet, some ridiculous part of her had started to grow attached to the knight.
It didn't help that she was an absolute sucker for the cold, brooding, emotionally unavailable types of characters. You know, the cold and aloof Duke Of The North type. If Achilles had been a character in a novel, she definitely would've been one of those obsessed fans writing theories about his tragic backstory.
But that was the thing.
He wasn't in the novel.
