Ryan didn't let her escape. He tightened his embrace, kissing her flushed cheeks between words.
The question made Lily hesitate. After a pause, she whispered, "Does it count if it's with my sister or my best friend?"
It was normal for girls to kiss platonically—it didn't imply anything about orientation. Kissing between sisters was a bit odd, but still understandable.
Ryan pressed further. "Brother-in-law means a real, deep kiss."
