I would never. I just… I was heading to deal with some important matters when I saw you leaving Beta Gregor's chambers."
He hesitated, then added, "I was concerned."
"Concerned?" I finally turned, my eyes locking onto his. "And what exactly are you concerned about?"
The Alpha cleared his throat. "That the Beta isn't convincing you to make a decision you'll regret."
I stared at him, wondering where he got this audacity from.
What business was it of his who I spoke to?
I took a step forward, watching as his body tensed under my gaze.
"I'm still trying to understand how that concerns you," I said, voice low, dangerous. "What gave you the right to walk up to me and question my choices?"
I hated being questioned.
And this pathetic excuse of an Alpha was pushing his luck.
"Apologies, Alpha Killian," he said quickly. "I just want to ensure our agreement remains intact. I wouldn't want Beta Gregor to change your mind."
