Chapter 3 - Chapter 3. Is This an Isekai Story?

I'm in the world of One Piece. A world created by Eiichiro Oda. The best-selling manga in the world.

A world where pirates run rampant, and the World Government holds the power to control the course of history.

I've been reading this series since I was a kid, and even now, at 30 years old, the main character still hasn't found the treasure known as One Piece.

I think the real treasure is the journey itself—the adventures and bonds formed along the way to the final island.

According to internet calculations, this world is even larger than Earth, with a size roughly 80% that of the sun.

One Piece.

And to make things worse, I'm on Sabaody Archipelago. The final stop in Paradise before pirates enters the New World. You can imagine the kind of pirates who make it this far—they're definitely not your average crew.

But this place is also close to Marine headquarters. Surely, that makes it safe, right? If only it worked that way.

For ordinary people like me, this place is hell. Slave hunters are everywhere, and their captives are sold to the Celestial Dragons—those despicable beings who contribute nothing to the world.

I know a little about One Piece.

As for my body, I'm a 10-year-old boy now. Black hair, average height for a kid my age. In a world full of giants, I'm just a normal-sized human.

My name is Erik. Both in the modern world and here in One Piece.

Memories of the 10-year-old boy whose body I now inhabit are slowly coming to me.

Erik was an orphan. His parents were killed by pirates a year ago. Forced to survive on the streets, he was eventually captured by slave hunters. He managed to last a year on his own before being caught. Impressive, really.

Enough about me. Right now, I'm staring at two "creatures" in front of me.

Succubus Knight and Beaver Warrior.

Monsters I summoned from Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.

My knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh! is limited to Obelisk, Slifer, and Ra. Beyond that, I only know general terms like Synchro and Xyz. But what do they mean? I have no idea.

I just like the card designs. That's all I know about them.

And then there's the System.

Host.

Now I have three packs to choose from. To stand a chance against the strong people here, I need the strongest monsters. I think I can get Blue-Eyes White Dragon from The Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon pack.

Correct. Host can obtain Blue-Eyes White Dragon from The Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon pack.

The list of cards available in each pack can be viewed in the following menu:

The Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon

Metal Riders

Magic Ruler

Alright then, let's open The Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon pack.

Opening pack:

Dragon Treasure (Common) x1

Sogen (Common) x1

Hard Armor (Common) x1

Kurama (Common) x1

Silver Fang (Common) x1

Skull Red Bird (Common) x1

M-Warrior #1 (Common) x1

Hitotsu-Me Giant (Common) x1

Giant Soldier of Stone (Rare) x1

No Blue-Eyes or Dark Magician. But that's okay. In terms of attack power, Skull Red Bird is the strongest, and Giant Soldier of Stone has the highest defense.

But if I don't want to draw attention, I can only summon Silver Fang and M-Warrior #1. Maybe I can summon Skull Red Bird and have it attack from the sky, far away.

I could also ask M-Warrior #1 to teach me combat techniques. As a man born in the modern era, my fighting skills are zero. Nil. Nonexistent. Even though I'll mostly rely on my summoned monsters in battles, I can't afford to be completely helpless.

System, is there a time limit for how long my summoned monsters can stay here?

No. All summons have no time limit unless specified on the card.

Jackpot. I was worried there'd be a time limit for the summons. What happens if a summoned monster is killed in battle?

Monsters killed in battle will revert to card form and cannot be used again for 24 hours.

Another jackpot. My summoned monsters are essentially immortal. And can the cards be destroyed?

No. Cards cannot be destroyed.

This is ridiculously overpowered. At least I have this power. I hope it's enough to stand against the Five Elders, the Four Emperors, or even Im. At the very least, it should protect me from them.

Now I need to figure out how spell and trap cards work. The only spell cards I have are the equip spells Dragon Treasure and Electro-Whip. These just create items.

"Summon Electro-Whip."

I handed the whip to Succubus Knight. It looked aesthetically fitting, but it didn't seem to have any effect. I guess it only works if the conditions on the card are met.

I wanted to test how field spells work, but I'm afraid it might draw too much attention, and that's the last thing I need right now.

Host, field spells will alter the surrounding environment.

I figured as much. If I use Sogen in the middle of the ocean, will it create an island with a grassy field? Let's test that when the conditions are more favorable.

Right now, there's something very important I need to do.

"Come forth, Armed Ninja, Kurama, Meda Bat, Silver Fang, Skull Red Bird, and M-Warrior #1!"

Even though I'm alone in this building, I still feel embarrassed saying that out loud.

To be continued…
