"She's in a stable condition. We're just waiting for the test results, and soon, there will be a biopsy to reconfirm the severity of her current illness," I said as I walked out of Jenna's treatment room. My gaze fell on Clara, who looked pale and had a blank stare.
She was worried about Jenna. Yes, I knew that was true. But why did she seem to hate her best friend so much these days? Not even came to Jenna's wedding and chose to fly back to Westmont just because she found Jenna making out with Ryan.
"Clara, are you okay?" I asked as she didn't respond to the relief I had just given her. I didn't need Ryan's reaction because he knew how we handled his girlfriend. I wondered what Clara would say in response to today's events.
"Who are you, John?" Clara asked, rising from her seat and looking at me like I was the devil in broad daylight. "Why did you handle her? And... why did it have to be you if Doctor Karl can treat her? That's all I know so far."
