Chapter 15 - Troubles at the Restaurant

Emily grabbed a white t-shirt from the closet and put it on. Before leaving, she suddenly thought of Jasper Clarkson.

His current official position was not of small importance, and he was friends with many children of officials. Why not ask him for help?

It was easier to get things done with acquaintances.

As she walked out, she dialed Jasper's phone number.

The phone rang a few times before he answered it.

"Hello Emily, how are you doing?" Jasper walked out of the noisy box while answering the phone.

"Are you busy?" He seemed to be still at the table. Emily could feel the chaos over there through the receiver.

"A little bit." Jasper smiled and said, "Do you want to talk to me about something?"

This girl wouldn't have called him if she had nothing to say.

"I guess." Emily raised her hand to scratch her hair and got straight to the point. "Something happened at my parent's restaurant. My mom just called and said that a gang of boys were causing trouble inside. Although they've call the police, I can only think of you to help. I believe you have some friends in the agencies, so it would be easier for you to get things done."

Hearing what she said, Jasper was also very angry, and said in a deep voice. "Don't worry, I will take care of this matter."

"Thank you so much. I have to go to the restaurant now. I don't know what the situation is over there!" At this time, she was already standing by the road, trying to stop a cab.

Jasper knew that she was anxious, so he comforted her with mildly.

After hanging up the phone, Emily quickly got into the taxi, told the driver the address, and then sped to the restaurant.

When she got there, the culprits had been taken away by the police. But the whole restaurant was in a mess, with broken tables and chairs, and broken glass and ceramics everywhere.

"Mom and Dad, are you okay?" Emily came to her parents and checked them all over. Fortunately, they were not injured.

"Emily, your mother and I are fine, don't worry." Her father answered.

But her mother was quite frightened and was still shaking.

So she hugged her mother tightly and comforted her, "It's okay, mum. No need to be scared."

His father also had a worried look on his face. He looked at the damaged restaurant and sighed repeatedly. This was the restaurant he had run for more than ten years, and it was smashed like this.

"Miss Sanders right? I'm Officer Carter. I'm the one in charge of this case of vandalism." A uniformed male police officer next to her introduced himself.

Emily was so anxious that she forgot to greet the police. So she quickly extended her hand to the male policeman and said, "Hello, Officer Carter."

The policeman said with a smile, "Mr. Clarkson has already informed us about what happened. So you don't need to worry."

After hearing him say this, Emily realized that it was Jasper who took action! Damn, that guy was quite efficient. It was at this time that she suddenly realized how great a person's energy could be.

"Thank you, officer! If you need anything, please let me know." Emily said politely.

The police officer nodded, and said, "I just need you to come down to the police station to give a statement."

This was a necessary process, and she knew it.

So she responded, "Okay, I'll be there soon."

The police officer nodded and left.

There were two young girls working in the store who were so frightened by the extent of the vandalism that their faces turned pale.

Emily comforted them and let them take a work break, so that they could take a vacation and come back to work after the restaurant was reorganized.

They were also very grateful to her, said their thanks, and left.

As for the chef, he looked quite normal and was not affected by the event at all.

Similarly, she gave him a few days off without his permission, so that he could go back and rest too.

After sending them all away, Emily continued to comfort her mother.

She was a strong woman but mentally fragile, and after being frightened, she couldn't accept the blow for a while.

"Mom and Dad, don't think too much about the restaurant. You have to take care of your health first. Although our restaurant has suffered a heavy blow this time, it is nothing more than buying some new tables and chairs. These are nothing. As long as this place is still here and as long as our family is still together, these are nothing! Don't worry, I promise that I will help you run the restaurant even better than before."

Although this incident made her very angry and she couldn't easily get over it, this was the only way she could comfort her parents now.

She had always adhered to the motto that if someone didn't offend her, she wouldn't offend them. If someone offended her, she would definitely go to war with them. Revenge was in her DNA.

James Lindemann, we're just getting started.

"I'm fine. Don't we still have to go to the police station to give a statement? Let's get going then." Her mother stood up from her chair tremblingly.

Emily quickly stepped forward to lend a hand, supported her arm, and said, "Maybe you need to rest for a while?"

Hed mother waved at her, said nothing more, and walked towards the door.

They took a cab on the side of the road and went straight to the police station.

In the lobby of the police station, they were received by a police officer named Carlos. After learning some information from us as victims, he expressed his sympathy to us. Then he even asked other colleagues to drive us home.

Emily politely declined, but the police officer was quite persistent. He said it was unsafe at night and insisted on an officer taking them back.

Seeing how enthusiastic he was, Emily no longer resist.

She knew, this was all because of Jasper.

When they got home that night, she stayed with her frightened mother. After finally seeing her fall asleep, she felt relieved.

After washing up, she returned to her room.

Today, it was thanks to Jasper for helping them. Yeah, she should call him to thank him.

So she picked up her phone and dialed his number.

The call was quickly connected. "Hey Emily, are your parents okay?"

His voice sounded a little hoarse, he must have drunk too much again.

Emily couldn't help but sigh: Yea it was so hard to be a man!

Jasper looked glamorous on the outside, and many people envy him for being able to sit in his current position. But who could really understand the sadness behind facade?

Emily came to her senses and responded. "My mom was a bit scared, but she's asleep now."

Jasper also breathed a sigh of relief, nodded, and said, "I'm glad you're all okay."

"Thank you again, Mr. Clarkson. By the way, the officers are really taking good care of us." Emily said. She knew that he took such good care of them because of Jasper.

Jasper laughed and said, "We are all old neighbors, so it is only normal for us to help each other." Then he changed the subject and said with some guilt, "By the way, I just remembered our appointment. I'm really sorry for not being there, Emily."

They had planned to have dinner last night, but he forgot everything after waking up from a hangover.

If Wayne hadn't mentioned it at the table just now, he probably wouldn't have remembered to mention it.
