I couldn't believe my ears. Leave?
He wanted me to leave him?
The thought of even doing that felt like I wouldn't be able to breathe properly.
"Ingrid, you need to leave," he said and shook me slightly as he held onto my shoulders.
"INGRID!"
I heard my stepbrother's voice and my chest skipped a bit in fear. When I parted my lips to speak, Flare placed his hand over it and shook his head before saying one word, "Go."
I slowly shook my head as my heart began to race in fear of losing him. I couldn't go.
"INGRID, STOP PLAYING THESE GAMES AND COME OUT!" Joseph yelled and it made me frown. He could easily find where I was hiding so how couldn't he?

"Yes," Flare answered my unspoken question before pushing me out of his hiding place and I stumbled right in front of Joseph who glared at me.
For a moment I stood there staring at him before looking back at the spot Flare stood just to find it empty.
How?
