Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: Memories (Special Chapter)

Disclaimer:

Hi guys! The following five chapters will be a special chapter that will take you back—into the hidden past, where shadows hold secrets and truth was buried beneath silence.

This is not literally the POV of Kali and what she is telling Champ, but this is the untold story of Alaric and Voder.

A journey through their timeline.

A revelation of the choices, betrayals, and bonds that shaped the world you now see.

Alaric's POV

Peacefully, I strolled toward the university garden, carrying two lunch boxes filled with stir-fried vegetables, crispy fried pork, and rice—lunch I had personally prepared for myself and Kali.

Kali is a Beta Female and my closest friend in this entire university, or maybe the entire world. That's better I think!

A girl by birth, yes, but if we're talking about energy levels? Off the charts. She moved with an uncontainable, restless vigor, making even the most energetic guys look tame in comparison.

Her hobbies? More masculine than most men I knew. Her movements? Rougher than a pack of unruly Alpha males.

And Kali—she is also the only one who knows my deepest, most dangerous secret...

I am an Omega Male.

In this world, being an Omega Male wasn't just rare—it was a death sentence.

I didn't know the full reason why, but my parents had always told me that if anyone discovered my true nature, I would be executed on sight. No questions asked.

And Kali? She protected that secret with her life.

She knew what would happen to me if the truth got out. Which is why, to the rest of the world, I pretended to be an Alpha.

As I neared the university garden, my peaceful walk was rudely interrupted by loud shouting.

"What the hell is your problem, huh?! Henry! You're the worst! Every damn time I see your face, it ruins my day!"

That was definitely Kali.

And sure enough, there she was—going head-to-head with Henry, her permanent arch-nemesis.

These two could barely go a day without fighting. Even the smallest things set them off. Last time, they argued over who should walk through a doorway first.

And, as usual, it looked like I was going to have to referee.

I rushed toward them, inserting myself between the chaos.

"Alright, alright! What now? What stupid thing are you two fighting about this time?" I demanded, scowling at both of them.

Kali jabbed a finger at Henry. "This moron said dogs are better than cats! I told him cats are obviously superior, and he just wouldn't shut up!"

Henry crossed his arms, looking smug. "Because I'm right. Dogs are smarter AND friendlier than cats. And I can prove it! Scientifically!"

I sighed. "Oh god, here we go..."

Henry launched into his rant. "Studies show that dogs have 530 million neurons in their cerebral cortex, while cats only have 250 million. This proves—scientifically—that dogs are more intelligent. And because they're intelligent, they're better at obeying commands, forming emotional bonds, and—"

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUDIES, HENRY!" Kali cut in, looking absolutely feral. "What matters is experience! Have you ever even owned a cat? Have you personally felt their intelligence and kindness?! If not, your so-called 'facts' are useless!"

Henry scoffed. "Experience? That's subjective. Science is objective. Facts answer the unknown. Experience can be misleading."

"Experience is the best teacher!" Kali shot back.

"No. Professors are the best teachers. You know, the people who actually study things before running their mouths?"

"EXPERIENCE!"

"PROFESSORS!"

"EXPERIENCE!!"

"PROFESSORS!!"

I snapped.

"OH, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD—" I slammed my hands between their faces, effectively cutting them off. "You started this fight about cats and dogs, then somehow got into a debate over experience versus science, and now we're at a completely different topic altogether?! What the hell is wrong with you two?!"

Kali, still fuming, huffed, "It's HIS fault."

Henry shot back, "No, she started it!"

"You started it, Henry!"

"No, you did, Kali!"

I groaned. "Oh my god, shut up! Henry, just walk away. The longer you stay here, the longer this fight will go on."

"Why should I walk away? She came up to me first!"

"Because you were provoking me from a distance! I can literally read your mind that you are cursing me!" Kali accused.

"WHAT?" Henry exclaimed.

I pinched the bridge of my nose. "You know what? I swear, if you two don't shut up right now, I WILL PUNCH YOU BOTH IN THE FACE."

Silence.

Kali opened her mouth. "But—"

I glared. "Kali..."

She hesitated, then exhaled dramatically and shut up.

I turned to Henry next. "And you, stop pushing Kali's buttons! You and your damn brother are both annoying!"

Henry rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, whatever."

"Speaking of your brother—where the hell is he? I need to talk to him about this."

A voice answered behind us.

"Who's looking for me?"

We all turned.

And there he was.

Voder.

An Alpha Male—but not just any Alpha Male.

The Alpha Prince.

The one destined to become the next Alpha King.

"Oh? I'm the one looking for you, Voder. Got a problem with that?" I smirked, standing my ground.

Voder raised a brow, stepping closer with the unmistakable air of Alpha arrogance. "Do you really think you can stand against me, Alaric?"

Instead of backing down, I squared my shoulders and bumped right back into him. "Just because you're royalty doesn't mean I won't knock you down a peg. Remember, I'm faster and smarter than you."

Voder scoffed. "Maybe. But I'm stronger. I could crush you with one hand."

"Oh my god," Kali groaned, rubbing her temples. "Now you two are fighting?! Can we not start another war?"

"This guy's annoying," I muttered, glaring at Voder.

Voder's expression darkened, his jaw tightening. "I'm annoying?" His voice was thick with disbelief—and rage.

I grinned mischievously. "Yep. Super annoying.

So why don't you shoo? Get out of my sight. Shoo!" I even made a little dismissive wave with my hands.

"You came looking for me, and now you're telling me to leave? Are you insane?" Voder clicked his tongue in irritation.

"I want to see if you were still as arrogant as ever—and yep, you are. So now that I've confirmed it, you can go." I said.

"Let's go, Henry. We have a meeting with Father."

Henry, who had been silently watching our exchange, frowned. "Uh, you have a meeting. Not me. I'm just a Beta Male. What am I supposed to do there? It's not like I'm ever going to be part of the government."

Voder gave him a dead serious look. "You're still coming. You should at least know what's happening in our world. It's your duty to understand how things work."

Now, as much as Voder and I were eternal rivals, I had to admit—when it came to responsibility, the guy took his role seriously.

Sure, he was immature as hell when it came to me—always ready to bicker, insult, or flex his so-called superiority—but when it came to leading? He was disciplined, strategic, and relentless.

I was literally the only person he ever stooped low enough to fight with.

Which could only mean one thing—I got under his skin.

And he hated that.

Honestly? I lived for it.

"Let's go, Henry," Voder said firmly.

Henry sighed, clearly not looking forward to this, but he had no choice. He followed after his older brother with a resigned slump in his shoulders.

But before Voder left, he turned back to me, his eyes burning with a challenge.

"We're not done, Alaric. Next time we meet, I won't let you off so easily. I have something important to take care of today, or I'd put you in your place right now."

I grinned. "Oh? I'll be waiting."

Voder didn't bother replying. With a sharp turn, he disappeared with Henry, leaving behind an air of Alpha arrogance and tension.

The moment they were out of sight, I exhaled in relief.

Finally. Peace.

"Alright, let's go eat! I'm starving!" Kali chirped, grinning ear to ear.

I turned to her, scowling. "You are the worst."

"What?!" she gasped dramatically, placing a hand on her chest. "Alaric, how could you say that?! You know we can't let those brothers have the last word! It's me and you against them!"

She struck a triumphant pose, looking like she had just declared war.

I sighed, shaking my head. "You're ridiculous."

But despite my exasperation, I followed her to a table, where—at last—we could finally eat in peace.

...

...

...

The aroma of sizzling vegetables filled the atmosphere, the savory scent wafting through the air as Kali let out an exaggerated gasp.

"Wow! Alaric, you really cook differently! This smells amazing!" she exclaimed, practically bouncing in excitement. "This is my favorite—stir-fried veggies!"

I smirked, scooping the food onto her plate. "Of course, you should be eating healthy meals." I placed a bottle of hand sanitizer in front of her. "And here, use this after eating."

Kali snorted. "Yes, Mother," she teased.

I shot her a glare, but she just laughed it off.

A moment of silence passed as we both started eating, but then she looked at me more seriously.

"Alaric... don't you ever find it hard?" she asked. "Pretending to be an Alpha?"

I sighed, stirring my food absentmindedly before giving her a small, tired smile.

"To be honest, it's exhausting, Kali," I admitted. "I hate it. Why do I have to pretend? Why do I have to hide? Why can't I just live a normal life?"

Kali sighed in sympathy. "I get it, Alaric," she said, her voice softer. "But at least, even though you're an Omega, you can go toe-to-toe with Voder, huh? You're a weird case—an aggressive Omega with ridiculous speed and a sharp mind."

"At least that's one thing I have going for me," I mused. "I don't know why my body and mind work this way, but I guess it's the universe's way of making up for how messed up my life is as an Omega male."

Kali suddenly grinned, her energy returning in full force. "Well, don't worry, Alaric! I'm here! You've got me!" she declared proudly. Then, as if remembering something, she chuckled mischievously. "But you know... sometimes, I get jealous of you."

I raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Because, even though I'm a girl, you're prettier than me," she said with a laugh. "You're so pale, your skin is ridiculously smooth, and you're slender—but still well-built since you actually take care of yourself. And your hair! Ugh! When you tie it up, you look normal, but when you let it down, you look more feminine than actual females! It's a miracle no one has figured out you're an Omega yet."

"That's why I wear oversized clothes," I grumbled. "My body automatically looks different from Alphas, so I have to hide it. If I don't, it's over."

Kali clapped her hands together. "Ooooh! I have an idea! Let's test it! Let your hair down! I wanna see!"

"No."

"Oh, come on, just once!" She pouted. "I just wanna see what an 'even prettier Alaric' looks like!"

I rolled my eyes but untied my hair anyway, shaking it loose. It cascaded down my shoulders in soft waves.

Kali gasped dramatically. "Oh. My. God." Her eyes twinkled with mischief. "You know, Alaric, if I were an Alpha, I wouldn't let you go and claim you as my mate."

I groaned. "Shut up, Kali."

She reached out and ran her fingers through my hair. "Your hair is so soft! And that light brown color with golden hints? Gorgeous. Meanwhile, my hair is just black, short, and dry as hell!" She laughed. "Hey, what if you do makeup next time?"

I turned red. "Tsk! Kali!"

Before she could push me further, a voice behind us cut through the conversation.

"Uh... excuse me, have you seen a piece of paper somewhere?" someone said.

We both turned—and I suddenly wished we hadn't.

Voder.

He had come into us, likely looking for something, but the moment our eyes met, he froze. His mouth hung slightly open as if he had forgotten what he was going to say.

I could see him swallow hard before he quickly looked away, his ears turning a suspicious shade of pink. His usual scowl returned, but it wasn't enough to hide the flustered look on his face.

"...Looking for something?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

He coughed awkwardly, then glanced at my hair.

I saw his fingers twitch slightly—like he wanted to touch it—but instead, he turned sharply on his heel.

"Never mind. I remembered it was in my pocket," he muttered. Then, as he walked away, he called out over his shoulder, "Tie your hair up, Alaric. It's annoying."

I blinked. "What? Why would my hair annoy you?"

"Annoyingly beaut—" He scoffed. "Because you look like a damn girl."

And with that, he left.

As soon as he was out of sight, I turned back to Kali—only to find her grinning like she had just discovered the greatest secret of the universe.

"...What?" I asked warily.

"I saw it," she whispered dramatically.

I narrowed my eyes. "Saw what?"

"I saw it in Voder's eyes."

I stared at her, unimpressed. "And what exactly did you see?"

"Oh, you know," she said, wiggling her eyebrows. "That he's totally attracted to you."

I nearly choked on my food. "Excuse me?!"

"How could he not be?" she teased. "I mean, think about it—he's the Alpha Prince, and you, my dear, are a stunning Omega hiding in plain sight! What if he finds out? What if he gets interested in you?"

I scoffed. "Oh please. An Alpha like him? Liking another Alpha? Impossible."

Kali smirked. "Except... you're not really an Alpha." She leaned in closer, whispering, "What if he finds out you're an Omega? Would you like him then?"

I paused, thinking for a moment. "...Physically speaking," I started hesitantly, "Voder is... well, he's big. He has that unique golden-tan skin, and his eyes... you can never tell what he's thinking, but if you look too long, you feel like you're being pulled in—"

I stopped abruptly, realizing what I was saying.

Kali screeched. "YOU'RE STARING AT HIM, AREN'T YOU?! You're totally into him! Alaric, you flirt!"

"I—WHAT?!" I nearly fell over. "No! I just notice things when we argue! That's it! Not in a creepy way, shut up!"

Kali, laughing uncontrollably, waved for me to continue. "No, no, please, go on! I wanna hear your thoughts about Voder."

I groaned. "If we're talking about personality, he's annoying as hell. Always trying to one-up me." I sighed. "But... I'll admit, as an Alpha Prince, he's responsible. Hands-on, even. And he's really protective of his younger brother, Henry. Even though Henry's just a Beta, Voder never leaves him out. I respect that."

Kali smirked. "Soooo, if you had to rate Voder out of 10?"

I thought for a moment. "...9.5?"

Kali shrieked. "OH MY GOD! AHHH! Alaric, you like him!"

"I DO NOT!" I yelled, laughing despite myself.

She suddenly tickled my sides, making me squirm. "Admit it! You're so obvious!"

"Cut it out, Kali!"

"Okay, okay! But seriously—what's with the missing 0.5? What don't you like about him, aside from how much he annoys you?"

I crossed my arms, huffing. "...He has too many Omega females following him around."

Kali gasped. "Alaric! Are you jealous?!"

I scoffed. "I said no such thing."

But I refused to meet her gaze.

And she cackled.

I wouldn't say it out loud, but there was a small, nagging part of me that was jealous whenever I saw Voder surrounded by Omega females.

Not that I had any right to be. It was just how Alphas were.

Still, there was something about him—his scent, that deep, unmistakable cedarwood aroma. Strong, commanding, unwavering. It was the scent of a leader.

Honestly, if I were an Omega female, Voder would probably give me a headache.

Just as I was lost in thought, a voice called out from behind me.

"Hey, Kali! Who's your new Omega friend? I could smell her lavender scent from a mile away."

I blinked, confused, and turned around—only to lock eyes with a stranger.

He froze.

I froze.

His brows furrowed, his expression twisting into sheer disbelief.

"Wait... You're a guy?" he asked, his tone dripping with confusion.

Before I could respond, he grabbed a handful of my hair.

I recoiled instantly. What the hell?

I swatted his hand away and hastily tied my hair back again, glaring at him.

To his credit, he seemed to realize his mistake because he awkwardly withdrew his hand and stuffed it into his pockets.

I had never seen him before, but something about him screamed trouble. His thick, sharply arched brows and sharp, piercing eyes gave him an intense, almost dangerous look. The kind of guy who walked around looking like he was ready to pick a fight. A bully.

"My bad," he said, still watching me closely. "It's just... from behind, I really thought you were an Omega female."

I forced out an awkward chuckle. "Ah... haha."

Kali finally stepped in. "Alaric, this is Theron," she introduced. "He's part of the High Alphas that rule our world, just like Voder. Their families are close but not blood related."

Theron hummed in understanding. "Alaric, huh?" He reached out his hand for a handshake.

I hesitated but shook his hand anyway, just to be polite.

Except... he didn't let go.

Instead, he lightly squeezed my hand, staring into my eyes like he was trying to figure something out.

Then, suddenly realizing what he was doing, he let go and cleared his throat. "Sorry. Got caught up for a second. Are you... a Beta male?"

I shook my head. "No. I'm an Alpha male."

For a moment, Theron didn't react. I could practically feel Kali's silent amusement as we exchanged a quick glance.

Then, Theron grinned. "Huh. Never met an Alpha male who looks this much like a girl—especially when your hair's down."

I sighed.

"I mean," he continued, "I really thought you were an Omega female. I was about to walk up and ask you out."

I let out a small laugh, rubbing the back of my neck. "Ah, well... better luck next time."

Before Theron could say anything else, a voice called from across the field.

"Hey! Brother! Father's looking for you!"

Theron turned his head and called back, "Yeah! I'm coming! Wait for me, Crest!"

He glanced back at me one last time. "Nice meeting you, Alaric."

I gave him a small nod. "You too."

As he walked away, he suddenly turned back, smirked, and shook his head before continuing toward his brother.

The moment he was out of earshot, Kali exploded with laughter.

"Oh my god! Alaric, two royals in one day? You're on fire!" she teased.

I groaned. "Kali! Do you see what you've done? I almost got into trouble because of you!"

"What can I say? You're just too pretty!" She giggled. "So? What do you think of Theron? What's your rating?"

"Zero point five," I said flatly.

Kali gasped dramatically. "Wow. That's brutal. And the 0.5? Is that out of pity?" she laughed.

I scowled. "It's because I didn't like the way he touched me or the way he looked at me. Something about him feels... off."

Kali wiggled her eyebrows. "Sooo... you're still Team Voder?"

"I am NOT 'Team' anyone!" I huffed. "But Voder, at least, has never touched me inappropriately or stared at me like that. We don't even touch at all unless we're fighting."

Kali clapped her hands together. "Alright, everyone, you heard it here first! Alaric is officially Team Voder!" she announced dramatically.

"You are insufferable," I muttered, laughing despite myself.

Kali's grin widened. "Alright, fine. But hypothetically, let's say Voder did know you were an Omega, and you two had a kid. Would you want a boy or a girl?"

I blinked. "That escalated quickly."

"Answer the question."

I sighed, giving in. "A boy."

Kali nodded, intrigued. "And would you want him to be an Omega like you or an Alpha?"

"An Alpha," I said without hesitation. "So he wouldn't have to go through what I'm going through."

"But what if he was an Omega?" Kali pressed.

I looked at her seriously. "Then I would never let him suffer. I wouldn't let him end up with the wrong Alpha. Anyone who wanted to mess with him would have to deal with me first." I smirked. "And I'd make sure he wouldn't be a weak Omega. He'd be strong enough to protect himself."

Kali's eyes softened. "And I, if you ever had an Omega son, would protect him with everything I have! I'd love him like my own child—even though, y'know, Beta females don't get pregnant. And I'd make sure he was cared for always."

I smiled warmly. "Thank you, Kali."

Kali beamed. "Okay! So, what would you name him if he was a boy? And an Omega?"

I tapped my chin in thought. "I want a name that symbolizes strength. A fighter. A leader. Someone destined for greatness. Someone who wins—a champion."

Kali's eyes sparkled. "OH! What if you just named him Champ? It's cute AND badass!"

I considered it. "Hmm... Champ." I smiled. "I like it. If I ever have a son, I'll name him Champ."

Kali grinned. "Well then, time to get pregnant with Voder's child so we can meet little Champ!"

I choked. "KALI!"

"What?! It's a good bloodline! He'd be royalty, too! Imagine: King Champ!" she declared dramatically.

"That's assuming Voder and I don't kill each other first," I said dryly. "You do know we argue like cats and dogs."

Kali just waggled her eyebrows. "Ohhh, you love it."

I threw my hands up in exasperation. "Enough of this! Let's eat before our food gets cold from all your nonsense!"

And with that, Kali and I burst into laughter as we finally dug into our meal—though I had a sinking feeling she wouldn't be letting this topic go anytime soon.

...

Voder's POV

I stood in the grand library of our home, an endless maze of towering bookshelves filled with centuries of knowledge. The sheer number of books made it impossible to decide where to start, but I wasn't here for casual reading.

I was here for Henry.

My younger brother often disappeared into this labyrinth of literature, losing himself in books for hours on end. He always said that if he wasn't destined to be an Alpha male, then at least he could make our father proud through intelligence.

If he couldn't lead with strength, he'd lead with knowledge.

His dream is to become a doctor once he finishes at the university. The only problem? He hadn't decided on a specialty yet. He was still searching for his path.

"Henry?" I called out.

"Over here, brother!" his voice echoed from the far corner of the room.

I followed the sound, weaving through the shelves until I found him sitting on the floor, completely absorbed in a thick, worn-out book. He was so focused he might as well have been trying to merge with the pages.

"What are you reading?" I asked.

"The History of Aurivelle," he replied without looking up.

I frowned. "Haven't you already read all the history books? You practically memorized the world's history. Why read it again?"

"This one is different," Henry said, eyes still glued to the text. "I just found it today. It was hidden behind the other books, and it looks ancient."

I crouched beside him. "And?"

"And," he said, turning a page carefully, "it says that Omega males were the original rulers of our civilization."

I snorted. "Omega males? Come on, Henry, don't tell me you actually believe that."

He finally looked up, frowning. "Why not?"

"Because Omega males are a myth, Henry," I said firmly. "Our father told us that they're an anomaly. A disease that should never have existed. That's what's been passed down from generation to generation. They're not real."

Henry's eyes darkened. "But this book says otherwise."

I sighed. "What exactly does it say?"

Henry's fingers tightened around the pages. "It says that Omega males were once powerful rulers—not through fear like Alphas, but through respect and love. They were kind, compassionate, and deeply revered by their people. Their presence alone brought peace. And..." Henry hesitated before continuing, "it says they had an ability that made people naturally listen to them. They were more powerful than Alpha males."

I reached out and shut the book in his hands.

"Henry, don't repeat this in front of Father," I warned. "Don't even think about mentioning it. He won't take it well."

"But, brother... what if Omega males do exist in our time, just hiding? What if they're in hiding because they don't want to be killed?" Henry asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

I sighed. "You're reading too much into this, Henry."

He shook his head. "But this book feels real. It's not like the printed ones we read—it's handwritten. It's old."

"That's enough, Henry. I don't want you getting into trouble over this."

Before he could argue, our father's voice rang through the library.

"Voder?"

Henry and I both froze.

"Hide the book. Now," I whispered.

Henry scrambled to tuck it away just as our father, Alpha King Olympus, strode into the room.

"There you are, Voder," he said. Then his gaze flickered to Henry. "You as well?"

"Did you need something, Father?" I asked.

"We're visiting an Omega facility," he said. "It's time for you to select an Omega female who will bear your heir."

Henry suddenly perked up. "Can I come?"

Father scoffed. "For what purpose? Even if you had children, they would only be Betas. They wouldn't matter."

Henry stiffened at the blatant dismissal, but I stepped in. "Actually, Father, I think Henry should come. He's interested in becoming a specialist. This experience could broaden his knowledge."

Henry's eyes widened in gratitude. "Thanks, brother!"

But Father was unmoved. "No. The Omega facility is for Alpha Kings and Princes only. It is not a place for anyone else."

I clenched my jaw but said nothing. Instead, I turned to Henry.

"You'll be alright?" I asked, placing a firm hand on his shoulder.

He gave me a small, forced smile. "Of course. I have plenty to keep me busy." Then, as if to reassure me, he winked.

I exhaled. "I'll come find you when I'm done."

Henry nodded quickly.

As I turned to leave with Father, I felt a familiar pang in my chest—the same one I always felt when I had to leave Henry behind.

It had always been this way.

Because Henry was a Beta, our father considered him worthless. He didn't see his intelligence, his ambition, or his kindness.

But I did.

And if our father wouldn't acknowledge him, then I would.

I would make sure he never felt alone. Because no matter what, Henry was my brother. And I would always stand by him.

...

...

...

The Omega facility my father spoke of was located deep within a secluded area, hidden from the public eye. It was heavily guarded, its entrance fortified with thick walls and security measures that ensured no one unauthorized could step inside.

As we entered, the sterile scent of antiseptic filled my nose, mingling with the quiet hum of machinery. Scientists in white coats, all Betas, moved around busily, working on whatever experiments they were conducting.

But what made my stomach churn was what—or rather, who—they were experimenting on.

Unconscious Omega females lay on examination tables, their bodies completely still, as if they were nothing more than specimens to be studied.

I clenched my fists.

"Father," I said, keeping my voice controlled, though the anger simmered beneath my skin, "is this just? They look like animals being tested in a lab."

My father merely placed a hand on my shoulder, his grip firm. "Do not worry yourself, Voder. These Omega females are carefully preserved. They have been chosen to enhance the genetic quality of our bloodlines, ensuring that the heirs they produce are of superior stock. You, too, came from this very place."

My breath hitched. My brows furrowed as I looked around once more, the weight of his words sinking in.

I was born from this?

Without another word, my father gestured to a Beta scientist, instructing him to escort me to the selection room—a place where I was expected to choose an Omega female to bear my heir.

We stepped into a dimly lit chamber, where ten Omega females lay motionless on pristine white beds. Their eyes were closed, their bodies limp, completely unaware of what was happening to them.

I walked between the beds, looking at them one by one, and my heart twisted.

They had no say in this. No choice. No freedom. Their only purpose was to conceive, to bring life into the world, only to be discarded once they had served their function.

Something inside me burned with quiet rage.

This was not the future I wanted for my heir.

If I ever had a child, I swore that they would grow up with both me and their Omega mother. They would not be taken away and raised by strangers. They would not be just another pawn in this twisted system.

I had made up my mind.

When I become an Alpha King, I would end this.

I would bring equality to this world.

The Betas, like Henry, deserved to have purpose, not be treated as lesser beings. The Omegas deserved freedom, not captivity. I had already started by including Henry in our council meetings, ensuring he had a place where his voice could be heard.

And when my time comes, I would make sure every Omega and every Beta had a seat at the table.

And the first thing I would do—would be to destroy this facility and free all the Omegas.

A voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Have you made your selection, Alpha Prince?" the Beta scientist asked.

Before I could respond, my father entered the room, his piercing gaze settling on me.

"Who have you chosen?" he asked, his voice expectant.

I turned to face him.

"None of them."

Silence.

My father's expression darkened. "What did you say?"

I stood firm. "I said I don't want any of them."

His jaw tightened. "Your heir depends on this, Voder. These females have been selected to bear strong Alpha sons—sons who will inherit your throne."

"I refuse to treat them like breeding stock," I said coldly.

His face twisted with irritation. "Voder." His voice was sharper now, more commanding.

But I didn't waver.

"I won't do this, Father."

A long, tense silence followed before my father finally exhaled, shaking his head.

"You are still young," he said, a knowing smirk forming on his lips. "One day, you will realize that an heir is necessary. And when that time comes, you will come to me asking for an Omega of superior quality."

I gritted my teeth, my blood boiling at his arrogance.

But I said nothing.

Let him believe whatever he wanted.

Because the truth was—when that time did come, I wouldn't need him to choose for me.

I would find my own Omega.

Someone who was free. Someone who was more than just a vessel for a child. Someone worthy.

And together, we would raise our heir in a world where no one was seen as lesser.

A world where equality reigned.

A world where my child—our child—would never have to grow up in chains.

...

...

...

I pushed open the door to Henry's room, only to find him still buried in that damn book.

"Oh, brother, you're back?" he said without looking up. "How did it go?"

I sighed heavily, rubbing my temple. "I was not pleased, Henry."

He finally glanced up, eyes curious. "Why? What was that facility like?"

I hesitated. The images still burned in my mind. Those Omega females lying there—lifeless, stripped of their freedom.

"I'd rather not describe it in detail," I muttered, crossing my arms. "Because once I become Alpha King, no one will ever see that place again. It's a hellhole for Omega females."

Henry's expression darkened. "I could tell from your face that you hated what you saw."

I nodded, exhaling sharply.

Then I noticed he was still completely engrossed in his book.

"You're seriously still reading that?" I asked, shaking my head in amusement.

"I am, brother! There's so much to learn!" Henry grinned. "Especially about Omega males."

I groaned. Here we go again.

Henry suddenly held up a sheet of paper filled with notes in his neat handwriting.

"I even took notes!" he said proudly. "This way, if I ever meet an Omega male, I'll know exactly what they're capable of!"

I let out a short laugh, shaking my head. "You really believe Omega males exist, huh?"

Henry just smirked. "Want to hear what the book says about them?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Go on, enlighten me."

"Well," he began, flipping a page, "according to this, Omega males have almost perfect features—smooth, pale skin, soft and delicate facial features, and an overall feminine aura because of their Omega genes, even though they're male."

I snorted. "So, basically, they look pretty?"

Henry ignored my sarcasm. "Oh! And the most fascinating part? They can get pregnant."

I burst out laughing. "A man getting pregnant? I can't even imagine that! It's already painful enough to take a shit—how much worse would that be?"

Henry rolled his eyes. "You're so immature."

I was still chuckling when Henry spoke again, this time more serious.

"You know, brother, I've been thinking. I want to specialize in the biology of Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. I want to understand exactly how we all function differently—especially Omega males. If they do exist, I want to study them. But I am not sure if I should push myself."

I grinned. "Well, if you ever find one, good luck with that." I clapped a hand on his shoulder. "But I support you, Henry. I'm proud of you."

Henry beamed.

Then, he suddenly tilted his head. "Brother, what if... one day, you had a son? And he turned out to be an Omega male? What would you do?"

I blinked, taken aback. "Huh. That's a good question." I leaned against his desk, thinking. "If that were the case, he wouldn't be less in my eyes. In fact, he would be the most precious person to me—well, along with his Omega mother."

I smirked. "And if he was an Omega male, any Alpha who wanted to claim him would have to go through me first. And let me tell you, it would not be easy." I chuckled. "They'd have to earn it."

Henry laughed. "You sound way too excited about scaring off potential suitors."

I shrugged. "Just making sure my future son doesn't end up with a weakling."

Henry leaned forward. "And if he's an Omega male... what do you want him to become?"

I smirked.

"He'll be an Omega King."

Henry's eyes widened in awe. "Whoa! Are you serious?"

I nodded. "You said it yourself—Omega males were once the rulers of this world. So why not?"

Henry grinned. "I swear, once you become Alpha King, the world will be a better place."

I met his gaze, determination burning in my chest. "I promise you, Henry—it will be."

But then... a thought crept into my mind.

What if Omega males really did exist?

Could it be possible?

Henry had described them as having pale, smooth skin, delicate features, an almost feminine aura...

My mind immediately conjured an image.

Alaric.

I stiffened.

No. No way. It was impossible. Alaric was an Alpha—stubborn, prideful, and infuriating.

Besides, even if he were an Omega male...

He'd never be interested in me.

He saw me as nothing more than a rival.

...Right?

I huffed, shaking my head. What a ridiculous thought.

Henry's POV

I stepped into the university library, expecting nothing more than a quiet afternoon of reading. But before I could even reach the shelves, I noticed something off.

Alphas were running.

Not just running—but losing control.

Their movements were erratic, their eyes wild, their breathing heavy. It was as if something had taken over them.

And there was only one explanation.

An Omega was in heat.

But something about this felt different.

I had witnessed Omegas in heat before, but this? The reaction of the Alphas was far too intense. It wasn't normal. It was almost desperate.

Something was wrong.

And then—I saw him.

Voder.

My brother was among them, moving swiftly, his sharp gaze scanning the area as if searching for something—or someone.

I waved my hand. "Brother!"

He didn't even look at me.

That made me freeze.

Voder had never reacted like the other Alphas whenever an Omega was in heat. He was always in control.

Yet now...

A strange sense of dread curled in my stomach.

Something is wrong. Something is different.

The Omega in heat—it wasn't just any Omega. Their pheromones were causing chaos, making even the strongest Alphas lose themselves completely.

I had to find them.

I needed to understand this.

I had to see for myself what was happening.

...

Now, I was no Alpha. But in that moment, I ran like one—dodging through the crowd, scanning the area, searching for any sign of the Omega causing this uproar.

And then—I spotted her.

Kali.

Wait? She's not an omega! Or is she?

She was running, clutching something tightly against her chest—a bag.

Her expression was tense, filled with worry, and... was she crying?

I watched as she wiped her eyes hastily, looking around as if terrified someone might see her.

Without thinking, I followed her.

She ran faster, slipping through the chaotic corridors of the university, until she reached a door—one I had never noticed before.

A hidden storeroom.

A place no one would think to look.

Kali pushed the door open and disappeared inside.

I approached carefully, my heart pounding.

What was she hiding?

I pressed my ear to the door.

"You okay? I'm here now, Alaric," Kali's voice whispered.

Alaric?

My breath hitched.

"Did you bring it?" Alaric's voice came—weak, strained, like he was in pain.

"Yes! I made sure no one followed me. I ran as fast as I could," Kali replied, her voice trembling.

What the hell was happening in there?

I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stay quiet.

"Wait! Alaric, I'm nervous! What if I hurt you? I don't know how to inject this properly!" Kali cried out.

Inject?

I froze.

A long silence followed before Kali spoke again.

"I was scared, Alaric. The Alphas outside... they were going crazy. It's a good thing this place is hidden, or they would have found you. It's terrifying how they react when you're in heat."

That was the moment everything shattered.

My thoughts froze, suspended in a haze of disbelief. My pulse thundered so loudly in my ears it drowned out the rest of the world, a deafening beat that echoed with instinct and revelation.

I didn't hesitate.

I threw the door open with a force that rattled its hinges.

Inside, Kali and Alaric spun toward me—caught in the act. Kali's eyes widened in panic, her voice sharp with disbelief.

"Henry?!"

But her voice barely registered.

Because I wasn't looking at her.

My eyes were locked on Alaric.

And in that single breathless instant, the entire truth unfolded before me like a spotlight piercing the dark.

Kali stood frozen, a syringe clutched tightly in her hand—its needle poised just inches from Alaric's exposed arm. The liquid inside shimmered faintly, betraying its contents. I didn't need to guess.

Suppressants.

And Alaric—he was barely standing. His skin was pale, bloodless. Sweat clung to his temples, dripping down his jawline. His chest rose and fell in shallow, frantic rhythm. His pupils were dilated. His hands trembled.

But it was his eyes that struck me.

They were terrified.

Something primal in me twisted at the sight.

I took a step forward, breath catching in my throat.

And then—without even meaning to—I spoke.

"...You're an Omega male?"

Silence fell like a stone.

Neither of them answered.

They didn't need to.

The truth hung between us, raw and undeniable.

Kali looked like she'd been caught performing an unspeakable crime. Alaric looked as if the floor had been ripped out from under him.

But me?

My heart was beating so fast, I thought it might tear out of my chest.

I could hardly breathe—not from fear, but from sheer, breathless awe.

For the first time in my life... I was standing face to face with an Omega male. A real one.

Not a legend. Not a rumor. Not a classified document buried under government lock and key.

A living, breathing anomaly.

He was right here. In front of me.

And he was afraid.

It was extraordinary.

I was ecstatic.

Every lecture, every forbidden textbook, every suppressed theory—I had just seen it all come to life.

This was it.

This was the discovery that would change everything.

And from this moment forward...

I knew exactly where my path led.

I would dedicate my life to understanding the anatomy of every being—Alpha, Beta, Omega, and most of all... Omega males.

Kali, however, had other concerns.

"Henry! You can't tell anyone!" she shouted, stepping in front of Alaric protectively. "Why you of all people?! Why did you have to find out?!"

But my gaze never left Alaric.

He was still frozen, still processing the fact that I had seen him.

Still realizing that his secret was no longer his alone.

And for the first time in his life... he was truly, completely vulnerable.
