Aylin stepped into the manor with Aimee at her side, cheeks flushed from the cold, fingers stiff in her gloves despite the walk. Her eyes lifted instinctively toward the upper levels, toward the chambers she now called her own, though sometimes they still felt foreign. Everything happened so fast and so intensely that she barely had time to process her thoughts about everything. She wondered if she should have met Silas to see what he wanted or at least to inflict pain with Sasha's mark. But she couldn't.
'I should have revenged. I should have told him everything that I've endured while waiting for his acceptance. I should have run away a long time ago.' She thought, but if she really had run away earlier, Sasha wouldn't be in her life, or Aimee.
